Re: Orphan Black

I'm just getting caught up on this one now. It's a Canadian show, filmed in Toronto - appears to be set there, too, even if they haven't come out and said it yet (I've only seen the first four episodes)...some vague references to neighbourhoods and locations around the city, Ontario licence plates, ...

Re: The Happy News thread

Is the gmail an issue of trying to go back and forth between accounts? I have two gmail accounts as well, and I know that you cannot be logged in to both of them at the same time in the same browser, however it does appear that you can have both open if using two different browsers (I just checked -...

Re: The Happy News thread

Nice!

Good luck! When you say online stores, will it be available to order in both print and ebook?

Re: Defiance

Finally got a chance to check this out. I've just finished the third episode, where this "mumbo-jumbo" comes in ;-) I find it interesting, but I wrote my Master's thesis on shamanism in the archaeological record, so I have a particular interest in the topic and the cultural significance it...

Wow, that's a blast from the past...I remember her from "The Faculty" when I was a kid, but I don't think I've seen her in anything since.

Re: Oblivion - *Warning! Spoilers!*

Nope, not dangerous at all :-) ...within reason, of course, everywhere is dangerous if you're irresponsible. I've been there four times now, it's like a second home. The first two were related to my Master's thesis (...well, okay, the second time was to "get photos" for the thesis, which h...

Re: Oblivion - *Warning! Spoilers!*

Good to know. I was down in Nicaragua last weekend and was contemplating going to see a movie the night before I flew back home just for something to do, but Oblivion was the only one playing that I was somewhat interested in. Normally I stay downtown when I'm in Managua, just a couple blocks from t...

Re: Status and Support

I here you there! It's a little bittersweet to have more people favourite your story than total number of reviews - on the one hand it seems like those users liked it, but on the other it'd be nice to get a bit of feedback. I do know, though, that a lot of people use the "Following" and &q...

Re: Vid: "Radioactive"

Quick update - I finally found a render setting that allowed me to make the vid file significantly smaller in size (it's about a third the size now) without too much quality loss, so I've replaced the old version and it should greatly reduce the buffering time. I believe I've also isolated the issue...

Re: Status and Support

If you can get into the habit of hitting ctrl+S every time you stop to re-read, that might work better. Ctrl+S is my best friend. After so many years of fanfic, school, and now all the reports I write for work, I hit it without even thinking, often after every paragraph (I've even caught myself doi...

Re: My Babes Calendar 2013

I have the same problem whenever I watch something that is attempting to jump into the realm of archaeology - I don't mind as much when it's an obvious parody or B-movie level attempt, but the more serious shows/movies make me cringe. I remember a scene from TNG (can't remember the episode) where Pi...

Re: Could Enterprise return with the help of Netflix?

I was thinking more of just a little patch job, a quick brush of a lighter makeup or something (I am not makeup-literate, so hopefully that translates). Even if it's still noticeable, at least if it were a bit lighter and closer to skin-tone, it would make it less of a focal point. Of course, I ackn...

Re: Could Enterprise return with the help of Netflix?

Yeah, I never understood how no one noticed (or cared) about the eyebrow thing. It's such an easy fix. I'm rather ignorant of how exactly things work on the set of a show like that, but isn't there often a makeup person nearby who is able to fix these things last-minute? Or I'm sure it could have be...

Re: Could Enterprise return with the help of Netflix?

EDIT - I didn't realize reference to the finale title was set to change like that...nice! What's this about? When I typed in "T A T V" (with no spaces) it changed it to "*the_abomination*" after I hit submit...at least on my screen. Maybe that's a setting I have turned on...

Re: Could Enterprise return with the help of Netflix?

My big question would be how they deal with bringing it back. Would they try to fill in the gap between Terra Prime and *the_abomination*? And if so, would it be immediately after Terra Prime, or some time a bit further ahead? Or would they want to take off from *the_abomination* and deal with all o...
