Re: You know you're a Trek fan when . . .

In my defense, I was like [*]four[*] at the time...

Correction, my mother tells me I was two when this occured.

Perhaps you'll get a kick out of these links:

Re: "Divergent Paths" Discussion

Where do you get "five" years from? The most recent chapter takes place in April, 2153. If the war begins in 2156, that's only 3 years. Realistically, a warp 1 ship would take (according to my calculations) 1595 days (which is 4.36 years) to get from Earth to Alpha Centauri (or Rigil Kent...

Re: "Divergent Paths" Discussion

I also think your timeline is slightly off in regards to when a fictional season 5 would take place in regards to the E/R War. More likely, I think, the war wouldn't begin until midway through the season (the mid-season finale) or at the very end of the season since, I believe, "Terra Prime&qu...

Re: "Divergent Paths" Discussion

Don't think there is much change on a Soval/Erika-ship... I know. It's impossible, it's illogical, and it has no grounding in anything, but it gives me paroxysms of giggles every time I think about it. I can't think of anything good to compare it too, other than the fabled Malcom/Lizzie ship, only ...

Re: New members, introduce yourselves here!

I wanted to write a whole story in the Vulcan language. Only problem: nobody can read it. That and you'd have the same problem you'd have if you tried one of the LotR langages: they only ever developed enough of the language to satisfy the needs of the episode/poem/etc, which works if you want to w...

Re: New members, introduce yourselves here!

Oh how beautiful. I'm jealous... I try. That's the beauty of creating your own language: you can make it sound as nice as you want, though you should see some of the oddities I created when I got into my "x" and "y" stages... T'Les isn't going to be pleased about the choi...

Re: Daily science stuff

My favourite part about Hyperspace - well, one of them anyway - is Kaku's story of how, when he was in high school, he convinced his parents to let him build an atom smasher in his garage. He and his parents spent all of his christmas vacation winding copper wire at the football feild to make a huge...

Re: New members, introduce yourselves here!

I've twenty-nine stories up on ff.net, twenty-seven of which are completed and eight of which are multi-chapter fics... I'll see about getting some of it posted here once I've finished through the augment arc... just because it's giving me so much trouble. Though I must admit I find it kinda embares...

Re: You know you're a Trek fan when . . .

OK, I'll use the excuse of aadarshinah's story of Trekkie children saying cute things to tell my own... Here's another one: you know you're from a Trekkie family when you and your mother spend half hour debating who's the best captain/engineer/doctor/etc out of each of the series... and scarely tal...

Re: New members, introduce yourselves here!

 It's kinda silly, really. I tend to... obsess when I write things, so for one of my original stories I created this whole elaborate language. Aadarshinah means "engima" in it.

Re: New members, introduce yourselves here!

I thought the story had to be finished to be posted if you were a new author - or did I read the submission rules wrong?

Re: Daily science stuff

I found all of this tremendously confusing until I read this article... If you're looking for a good book on anti-matter and string theory in general, I suggest reading Michio Kaku's Hyperspace: A Scientific Oddessy through Parallel Universes, Time Warps, and the 10th Dimension . Not only is it eas...
