Re: T'Pol's Clothing
...I never connected it with the science piping... It's probably a sign I've been thinking too much on it while trying (unsuccessfully) to write, but I've thought of another explination: as weird as the blue piping looked on the red uniform, yellow piping would've probablly looked stranger, and, si...

Re: T'Pol's Clothing
But would it have helped sell the book? Nah, probably not. Though you've gotta wonder what they were thinking with some of the other book covers. On the impulse buy, the cover helps! Though, honestly, how many people who aren't already Trekkies and on the lookout for that sort of thing buy the rela...

Re: T'Pol's Clothing
And if they had, it probably wouldn't have helped sell the book. Read them on a kindle or the like. It makes it seem like a padd, which makes them that much better. Though, thinking back on it, it probably wouldn't taken more than an hour or two to make a decent try at photoshoping a decent Romulan...

Re: T'Pol's Clothing
So, why was Trip tucker left off the cover?
Probably no one wanted to go in and photoshop a picture of him as a Romulan...

Re: T'Pol's Clothing
For that matter, Trip was supposed to be the FO before T'Pol joined, but he was wearing the red of engineering. If the colours are supposed to be red for engineering/support staff, blue for science, and gold for command, who exactly counts for each? Okay, yes, scientists were blue and engineers whe...

Re: T'Pol's Clothing
A total non sequitur... But if T'Pol were to have worn the normal Starfleet uniform, what color would the piping have been? Yes, on her modified uniforms it's the blue of science, but in the MU, where she presumably had the exact same position, her MU uniform has the yellow piping. Anyone want to ta...

Re: "Divergent Paths" Discussion
Does this make anyone else suddenly wonder what that Klingon was doing in a cornfield on Earth in the first place? Another question about that episode: To get to Kronos from Earth, you have to go through the Borderlands, especially if you pass by Rigel. Yet not only is the potential threat from the...

I'll take your word on that. I know nothing at all about soccer, but except to say again that it was cool.

Yes, but it was cool. You can't deny that....
My own gloating, I just looked and I'm now a Junior Lt.... I've been on this forum less than 3 days and already a Lt. If only real life worked that way.

Re: Status and Support
Having had the benefit of several years of organic chemistry, I feel I can answer some of this: If some one took a blood sample of some one and stored it for a couple of years and took a recent blood sample of that same person - would there be distinct differences? and from the site: PHLOX: These ar...

Re: "Divergent Paths" Discussion
I find it hard to believe it was on the way between Rigel and Kronos According to this http://www.sttff.net/images/AST030.jpg map (which, as far as I can tell, is fairly accurate) Kronos is at 5, -3.5. Rigel is at about .5, -2.25, and Earth is at 0, 0. Suliban is at about 1.5, -2.5 - between Rigel ...

Re: "Divergent Paths" Discussion
Well there's another factor you might consider in future times: When the Xindi attacked and people thought about blaming Starfleet for "luring" bad aliens to Earth, Starfleet could at least counter, that no one had ever met them before. The Suliban are a different case. The Suliban were o...

Re: "Divergent Paths" Discussion
Speed of Plot is our friend. Without it, a weekly series in space in which interesting things happen regularly just doesn't make sense. True. That's one of the reasons why I always loved DS9 : you could imagine all that stuff happening on a more-or-less weekly basis. Because, as Rigil said, space i...
