Re: "Divergent Paths" Discussion

Plus, I sort of envision it as not being a "complete" bond at this point since they haven't taken the final step and consummated it. But if you're expecting the telepathic telephone of most ficdom, I'm afraid you'll be disappointed. I've always preferred approaching differently from that ...

Re: "Divergent Paths" Discussion

And to be fair it's not just Star Trek that has this problem, but the vast majority of TV and films. Honestly, It's gotten so I hardly notice such inaccuracies any more, they're so common. If I let it bother me I'd have to stick to the History channel. That's quite true. Throwing extra money at the...

Re: This one line...

What might also influence her reaction is the knowledge about the existing bond. Something like: 'You can't simply push him away if he is your bondmate!' Therefore, she shows more lenience in his acting regarded under Vulcan standards. The more I think about this line, the more I'm convinced, that h...

Re: "Divergent Paths" Discussion

I think you're missing his point. He isn't talking about the budget, but about the leadership lessons that could be learned from either case. Take "Band of Brothers," for example. If they had studied it, imagine how much cooler Jonathan Archer could have been if he was cast in a more Dick...

Re: "Divergent Paths" Discussion

@ Rigil Yes, essentially you are right. Well I could start to say, that I see some aspects you pointed out differently or they could be explained. But far more important: Very much of it, is caused by the budget restriction of the studios: body armor, helms for the MACOs? might be realistic but unn...

Re: This one line...

Trip says "in't" for "isn't" Okay. So as a non-native speaker, I simply struggled with Trip's accent. This one is a win for Trip. A long awaited win for Trip. He does know his worth in this one. But why does T'Pol say: "Agreed" with a nearly smug expression? I don't wa...

This one line...

I have always asked myself this one question after reading some fanfic concerning the kiss scene in "Bound" I always thought, that Trip said: "and that ... this thing between us... I'm not big of a deal." But at some place people refer to it, as if he is saying "and that ......

Re: "Divergent Paths" Discussion

The Vissians technology was insanely advanced for the time, they made the Vulcans look backward. So they had the ability to blast Enterprise out of the stars no problem. Trip or in this case Kelby's actions could have been taken as a hostile act of war. They were interfering with the Vissians repro...

Re: "Divergent Paths" Discussion

@ Distracted

Yes, you right, but I was simply picking up the version, Trip used in the episode. He said something like: "Strikes me more like a she".
That's the reason to use the pronoun 'she'.

Re: "Divergent Paths" Discussion

Before I reply, I feel it necessary to say that I honestly don't think Kelby (or Trip in canon-verse) was actually wrong in what he (either one) did in regards to Charles. Morally, it seems like they did the right thing by standing up for the cogenitor. Legally, however, Kelby was completely in the...

Re: New members, introduce yourselves here!

Thanks to all of you. I do have a question about your Avatar and name if that's OK. Are you interested in Ancient Egypt? If you are is it because of profession, hobby, or do you just really like the Goa'ould and SG-1? :D Well, number one I liked the name as a synonym for something like writing...

Re: "The Abomination"

I'm just impressed that Patrick Stewart was actually watching Enterprise . 8) I can't remember where you can see it - most likely on the special features on the DVDs - but he visited the set some times. So I'm not surprised that he watched it himself. He is orginally a theater actor and director of...

Re: "Divergent Paths" Discussion

Kelby was also seen in "Affliction", where Archer calls down to Engineering for more speed, where Kelby reacts only, that the injectors are already at 110%. Archer dignifies this with the point, that Trip got them on 120%.

That's it.

Re: "The Abomination"

Hey just look at those reactions, quoted on Memory Alpha # According to Rick Berman, this episode would have been the fourth season finale even if the series had been picked up for a fifth season. He did state, however, that if the series had been renewed, Tucker would still have been killed off bec...
