Re: Got a problem

This is going to sound a little silly, but try writing in a different location. Sometimes, the bathtub works for me. If it's a nice day, try going outdoors. I do some of my best thinking when I'm out walking the dogs, so I might stick a small pad of paper and a pen in my pocket, along with the empty...

Re: Rigil's New Endeavour thread...

You're doing a great job showing Archer's and Trip's learning process as they acquires greater responsibility. They're making reasonable -- though often personally difficult -- adjustments to the Romulan threat. Eisler's the kind of XO Trip needs right now. Those two captains aren't going to know wh...

Re: Archer's backstory

he needed to learn to say please and thank you more often. Captain Kangaroo's magic words. You're right, Pooka, Archer should have definitely watched old reruns of Captain Kangaroo. I think you're right about moving First Flight to season 1 along with Cogenitor. Those two episodes lay the fou...

Re: Archer's backstory

Ditch the arrogance and the "only my way is right" mentality. Have something blow up in his face so he gains some perspective and adopts a more cautious approach to things. I agree. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if the cogenitor episode had been built arou...

Archer's backstory

We don't know a great deal about Archer's backstory. Basically it revolves around his father, his father's death and the attempts by the Vulcans to discourage humans from deep space exploration. With that in mind, do you think the writers doomed Archer's character from the beginning? They gave him n...

Pine Tree (Peacemaker)-- loves agreeable company, craves peace and harmony, loves to help others, active imagination, likes to write poetry, not fashion concious, great compassion, friendly to all, falls strongly in love but will leave if betrayed or lied to, emotionally soft, low self-esteem, need...

Re: Rigil's New Endeavour thread...

The bond...hmmm. We know that in a dream or in a meditative state, they head off to T'Pol's white space and they can communicate with one another in complete sentences. With that said, I, too, don't see the bond as a cranial walkie talkie. That's too easy and not half as much fun. Most of the time, ...

Re: Rigil's New Endeavour thread...

I really like the way you write Trip & T'Pol's bond. I think T'Pol has her work cut out for her, though. As always, Trip's keeping everything inside. Major nightmares ahead. Great job!

Re: Connor on Stargate Atlantis

I've tried to get into Stargate Atlantis, but I just don't find it very interesting. With that said, the episode was way too much of the regular cast walking through that boring metal building and not enough Michael. CT's character is such a contrast to Trip. Trip was so demonstrative -- lots of fac...

Re: Archer - Dweeb or Hero?

I don't think you've been cruel to Archer. As depicted on the show, he wasn't much of a leader. He learned a few lessons in the Expanse, but he still had a long way to go to be the great man Daniels indicated he would become. T'Para took him to task just like she did Trip and T'Pol. She wouldn't was...

Re: Rigil's New Endeavour thread...

At his words, however, T'Pol merely gave him a sidelong glance, complete with the raised Eyebrow of Annoyance. It was a slightly modified version of the Eyebrow of Doom, and Hoshi had learned that it was the Vulcan's way of expressing that whomever she was talking to at that time was being obtuse. ...

Re: Rigil's New Endeavour thread...

Those sneaky, sneaky Romulans! I like what you're doing with this story. There's plenty of action, but you're giving even more time to your characters. Eisler, Hayes and D'deridex are every bit as interesting as Hoshi and Archer; you're doing a great job bringing your original characters to life.

Re: I have Idea's for fics, need advice, moral support, whateve

I start out with a general idea of what I want to write -- and yes, I even have some things outlined -- but by the time I've got several chapters done, the story has mysteriously morphed into something quite different. I'm constantly jotting down notes on scraps of paper. About half of what finally ...
