Re: Price of gasoline
Current for regular unleaded was 3.85 last night. My commute is 110 miles every day. Van gets ~24 mpg and the little convertible gets ~30 mpg both freeway driving. Mostly little to no traffic due to the time when I travel which is after rush hour and opposite from the bulk of the traffic. If I can s...

Re: Expectations for T'Pol
Perhaps T'Pol should be considered completely Vulcan yet a personification of the heterogeniality of any group, specifically the Vulcan population. There is always variation among samples to some extent. Humans may have a greater dispersion or maybe not. Perhaps they just manifest the differences ou...

Current situation report
As some of you may know I have been dealing with congestive heart failure for a while now. The good news is my doctor has my blood pressure under control and it is approaching normal. I was in the ER last February and was carrying almost 100# of water in the form of edema with a BP of 226/160. Thing...

Re: Rifled Barrel Shotguns
My understanding is that you may also consider a rifled choke for the regular smooth barrel shotgun. Yes, you need an open chole, like cylinder or sleet for slugs. Screw in chokes are good but make sure they don't come loose. Firing slugs from anything tighter than skeet or cylinder chkes is looking...

Opinion sought on story idea
I have been playing with a story idea that isn't about much, just a filler between some random early episodes or other. Just an exploration of something that could have happened and amuses me so far. It is a rough thing, unfinished and not fully fleshed out but mostly there. No it isn't ready for be...

COnsider if you will that a space ship is a closed system of many technologies. The chief engineer is responsible for all of them, He would need expertise in most if not all systems in the vessle. Also a warp engine is not just a big analog of a diesel, gas, steam, or any other conventional engine. ...

Re: The Whine thread.
Long ago in a time before the wheel, I was putting myself through school as a free lance illustrator. I sent many packages off to various magazines and publishers only to have them drop into a back hole. You have to be willing to see your work stolen, lost, used to decorate someone's office or home,...

Re: Briar patch chapter 2, great story
No warm and fuzzy feelings for poor Admiral Kiran?  Well, let's see. Not living up to the agreed terms of the exercise. Loosing two vessles with complete crew compliments on what is essentially a training mission. If there is no outside force responsible he stands to be cashiered for g...

Re: The Whine thread.
Best thing is to get checked out. Since last November I thought I was having a series of colds. Around Jamurary I was thinking maybe bronchitus had made a comeback. Mid February I was thinking walking pneumonia. Well I finally went to the ER. Couldn't walk more than 25 yards without gasping for brea...

Re: Rigil's New Endeavour thread...
I dunno, the Earth/Romulqan war is a epic enough subject I rather suspect it could easily encompass an entire season or three. With the richness and interwoven threads Rigil has chosen to explore and 44-48 minute "hours" for broadcast media there seems to be adequate material.
