Yes, and I refuse to believe that ANYONE will still be smoking by then. Let alone respected professionals.

Looking for a 1980's film

This is not remotely trek-related but.... I'm looking for a particular film as a birthday present for my cousin. About ten years ago, we spent an entire night sitting up just talking and watching trashy television. We watched this 1980's romantic (comedy) film that starred one of the Baldwin brother...

Re: Avatar *Here there be spoilers*

I watched Avatar in 3D a couple of days ago... and I can't stop thinking about it. The quality of the world Cameron's created! This is a place that carries on existing long after the credits have rolled. It easily makes my top ten science fiction films of all time list. I try to avoid spoilers/trail...

She plays an evil character.... but you'll have to tune in to find out the details ;-)

Here's a link to her first BBC press shot

It's the one on the right (she's the one wearing purple)

Doctor Who Xmas Episodes

Hey guys,

Just a quick heads-up.... and an opportunity for me to get my 'proud' on....

One of my sisters has landed a part in the Christmas Doctor Who Specials. They're David Tennant's last few episodes as the Doctor. So, if you get the show where you live, I hope you'll watch.

Re: Finally! Some information about Connor's Sci-Fi movie...

I completely forgot this was on! It would have been fun to see CT in another sci-fi....even if it is slightly rubbish.

I ended up taking my little sister to a Britney Spears concert instead.

Does anyone know if it will be repeated?

Re: New Movies's contributions to canon

I only saw the movie once, so maybe I better go back and watch it again. Yes, and then I would be adding another statistic to the fact that people will still pay to watch Star Trek (or a facsimile there of  ). I've seen the film a shameful amount of times now.....and that's always been my defe...

Re: New Movies's contributions to canon

We now know that the sky on Vulcan is not always red. I don't know if it's a significant addition to canon.....I'm sure there are people who didn't like the change. But, it sure brings the whole thing back to scientific reality.

Re: Abrams Trek review thread *HEAVY SPOILERS*

Hmm. Seems to be a bit of a role-reversal in the UK. I'd say that television news on the BBC is more widely trusted than a lot of print journalism. Newspapers in the UK are openly partisan. Whereas broadcasters, for the most part, are regulated by Ofcom. We're held to a much stricter code of conduct...

Re: The Whine thread.

The question then becomes "how on earth can you safely navigate a workplace full of dog-eat-dog types, without sacrificing your dignity/values?" I think I may have done a little bit of both over the years. Take the case I posted earlier, about the backstabber who got a co-worker fired and ...

Re: The Whine thread.

Actually, I've thought about PR. It can be quite lucrative. But, I think I have a natural aversion to any job that involves that much spin and schmoozing. Having said that....I wouldn't mind doing PR for a charity. I think I'll add that to the list and then pray on it. And, I agree about the univers...

Re: The Whine thread.

My 16 year old is having a party right now. I have over 20 half-dressed teenagers in my pool. I went to get them chicken fingers. I bought 50. They lasted about three minutes. We got a couple of cheese pizzas for the vegetarians. They lasted about 5 minutes. So I put out a cut up watermelon, a tray...

Hey, I was just responding with alarm to someone earlier remarking that Bakula looked younger than Trinneer. Because that IS a fairly scary thought. Maybe fuzzy lenses were involved. 8) Hey, that was me! I was talking about his appearance in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles . Unfortunately, ...
