Re: Enlistment?
frankly we dont have a clue how many ships there were and wonder where that 20 number came from. Pretty much a guess. It's all a matter of resources. You've got a planet that went through a nuclear war approximately 100 years ago. The resources and the political will are not going to be there to bu...

Re: Randomness
Dan (my roommate) comes in on Friday after work and mentions that us finding a new place to live probably won't be that hard after all. Evidently, his boss is also a real estate dude, and gives employee discounts to his people who rent from him. If this guy gives him a car with guns on it and tells...

That argument doesn't track. Now that she is in the officer corps, it makes her eligible for different duty stations and assignments, regardless of what her current job is. By being given the grade of commander, she is now eligible for consideration as a future commanding officer for a different sh...

Re: Enlistment?
Based on what I've seen, though, it's a rarity. From Wiki: Quote: Churchill is the only U.S. Navy vessel to have a Royal Navy Officer assigned to the ship's company. The U.S. Navy had a permanent U.S. Navy Officer on the Royal Navy ship, HMS Marlborough. Churchill is also the only U.S. Naval vessel...

In a word, unless I read the policy wrong, Yep.

Re: Enlistment?
T'Pol would have been OIC of the OpFor (Opposing Forces) team, with a Neptune class done up as a Bird of Prey. In other words, your ship didn't go into space until you either beat T'Pol or held your own. Think Top Gun. Dude, I love that idea! Rigil, I agree with you except that the relationsh...

Re: Enlistment?
As an afterthought, if anybody with any sense were in charge, Tucker would have been ChEng of the shipyard, and T'Pol would have been OIC of the OpFor (Opposing Forces) team, with a Neptune class done up as a Bird of Prey. In other words, your ship didn't go into space until you either beat T'Pol o...

Re: Enlistment?
OK, first off all US Military Personnel Policy is determined by the Department of Defense. Each of the services (Army, Navy, etc.) can vary the implementation of that policy somewhat to meet the needs of that service. Also things tend to change based on budget and the economy in general. For example...

Rigil,
Tell your roomie to go see his legal officer. IIRC the suit can be postponed while he is deployed under the Soldiers and Sailors Civil Relief Act. I believe all that is required is a letter from legal.

You may wish to start writing as there were some rather HIGH hills in a couple of backgrounds in Carpenter Street, which is supposed to be in Detroit. ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

I watched this over the weekend. It was...underwhelming. I paused the movie when they were in the locker room and were reading their admitting charts. They were all admitted under the auspices of "Division31". Ms. Blalock's admitting physician was Dr. McCoy. "Damnit, I'm a doctor not ...
