Re: Why and how

Why would they have to be opposed to telling others just because they have limited (or no modern) technology, Linda ? The Amish don't use modern technology. I just happen to think of these people as being like the Amish except in the middle of a desert. Maybe they wanted to separate themselves from ...

Re: Why and how

Perhaps a sect of Vulcans that didn't go in for all that modern techonology and who lives in the deep desert, finds the child (I presume this is a young child who can't tell them anything about its family) wandering, its parents killed during a sandfire storm that came up unexpectedly, and takes the...

Re: Just wondering?

^ I never got the point of Earth: Final Conflict myself. It was a show that they had to come up with a completely new direction on every season, while generally ignoring everything that happened in the previous season. Moreover, Sandoval never did find out that Liam was his son, which would have bee...

Re: The stories that begun...

^ As for my story ( To Walk a Mile ), I do intend to continue it. My beta is currently writing his own stories at the moment, though, and hasn't had time to look over the part I sent him and give me some useful criticism on it. I've got about 7-8 pages of the next part written, and I do have the end...

Re: What does NCC-1701 stand for ?

^ The "class" of ship has nothing to do with the registry number (which is what the "NCC-1701" is). The class of ship is named for the first ship of that type--therefore, Kirk's Enterprise (NCC-1701) is a "Constitution-class" starship, because the USS Constitution was t...

Re: What does NCC-1701 stand for ?

Well, the USS Constellation was Matt Decker's ship in The Doomsday Machine. Never noticed before looking it up to double check and make sure that I had the correct episode that the Constellation's registry number is simply an anagram of Enterprise's... Laughing (It's the NCC-1017).

Re: What does NCC-1701 stand for ?

Well, this is what the article about the Starship Enterprise over at wikipedia says. Though don't take it as gospel... The relevant part of the article states that: The particular combination of letters and numbers for the ship's registry, NCC-1701, was chosen because it would be easily readable at ...

Re: Just wondering?

It honestly depends on whose work your using (other than Star Trek, that is). I know that fanfiction.net, for example, lists these authors: * P.N. Elrod * Raymond Feist * Terry Goodkind * Laurell K. Hamilton * Robin Hobb * Dennis L. McKiernan * Robin McKinley * Irene Radford * Anne Rice * Nora Rober...

Re: Terra Prime's final scene

Beats me who changed it, but most of the stuff involving Hoshi's dialogue was changed in the episode.

I'm guessing that they didn't want the obvious DS9 references that the whole Kahless/Lukara talk would bring to mind, especially since it deals with another couple...

Re: Any hope for the New Star Trek movie?

I never had a problem with Enterprise being a prequel. Seriously, you can't expect their tech to be more primitive than TOS's and expect the show to be taken seriously in this day and age. The jelly bean controls and whatnot on TOS, in fact, have always looked more than a little silly to me, persona...

Re: Terra Prime's final scene

I did like this bit from this version... (Keep in mind that this is in place of the whole "Hoshi ran a floating poker game at STC and broke her company commander's arm conversation, instead in this version they're discussing Klingon opera, namely the love story of Kahless and Lukara, which I'm ...
