Some of these people haven't taken their medication. Let's see what happens now...

Re: Personality Test Poll
Well, WarpGirl, maybe you were thinking emotionally when you got INFJ. Then a few hours later you were thinking more rationally when you took the test again. Makes sense to me.
Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.

Nope. Really I don't even remember answering any of the questions differently. Oh wait, I got to bed at 7:45am this morning. Maybe I'm still delerious....

I think SilverBullet said he accidentally hit artisan when he meant to hit guardian. So we're falling even more into typical slots, I guess.
EntAllat, what kind of online misunderstandings do you study? I find that fairly fascinating, not only for a site like this, but also as someone who might be teaching a purely online course one of these days.
(Love the CDO, by the way. )

Actually I study (or did - I haven't done research in two years now) the formation of community and culture online and how that's evolved since the early 1990's. Communication issues are just one part of it. Social roles, new kinship structures, language and lexicon, rituals, social norms, similarities and differences with offline community and culture formation, the effect of the environment (the technology) what it all means for the traditional definitions of culture etc. are all a part of what I study. The group that I studied has been around since 1988 (yup, two decades) and evolved with changes in technology. The purpose of the research is both theoretical (what does this mean for the concept of "culture" in my academic discipline) and practical (a better understanding of what it takes to create a sustainable online community given X circumstances - say for game developers or state government).

Thanks. I found that on a button somewhere and it just felt so right.

Re: Personality Test Poll
So what academic discipline did that fall into, if any? Cultural anthropology? Sociology? Something more technical?

Re: Personality Test Poll
Hmmm. So today I test INTJ... a Rational.
Introverted 33%
Intuitive 25%
Thinking 1%
Judging 67%
The results of this thing must depend on the mood you're in when you take the test.

Frankly I find that annoying and scary. Shouldn't there be a test that doesn't change no matter what mood you're in?

Re: Personality Test Poll
Multiple choice test results depend on the answers you put, and the answers may differ depending on how you feel that day. Or at least mine apparently do. The test is always the same. It's the answers that are different. Obviously.

Re: Personality Test Poll
Well yeah. My annoyence stems from the fact that an evaluation of a personality should not just depend on a mood. I mean I'm not a completely different person angry, or sad, or happy, or in love... So shouldn't there be a test that evaluates personality without "mood" influences? Obviously such a test would not be multiple choice.
On a completely unrelated note, it's a good arguement against online dating sites. Those profiles hinge on your mood when you take them. Now THAT is scary.

Re: Personality Test Poll
Well, whenever your percentage of being something is very low, it's possible for that to shift. The ones with the high percentages shouldn't, unless you've got some multiple personality issues...
I also think that once you are aware of your results, retaking the test can result in some different answers. Subconsciously, you might start to psych out the test. This kind of test probably works best the first time you take it, assuming you're honest with your answers.

Re: Personality Test Poll
I agree with Alelou about psyching out the test on multiple takes. Also I did notice the low score on Distracted's T - rational score. And that was only one letter change, so I agree with Distracted on the mood change being a factor, as I also said earlier for WarpGirl's test change. Weren't the score changes for both of you on only one letter? And both a change between F and T? So you were still both interverted and judgemental and whatever N means which I forgot? And can't you retake those online dating tests too?

ISFP, no big suprise there...I like to make stuff.
It's flavored with passionfruit
an appropriate ingredient, don't you think?
