How much make-up do they actually think they need with her coloring and bone structure? She is beautiful yet it looks like she's prepping for the theater or the circus.

Makeup isn't always about looking natural. Sometimes it's just about creating a "look." I know. My hair and makeup have NEVER been about being natural. Bleech. Why in the heck would I want to do THAT???

I'm guilty too. I like purple eye-shadow. But the amount! God that poor girl looks coated in the stuff.

*shrug* I often create goth-type looks, or looks that are inspired by that 70s "there's no such thing as too much blue eye shadow!" philosophy. Personally, I often like lots of makeup.

Jolene is beautiful either way. If you look at the hair and clothes, that's not exactly a "minimize the makeup" look.

'sides, as you get older, your skin tone changes. When you're over 30, sometimes you need a little more help out of a bottle or a compact. Don't know if that's true in Jolene's case, but for many women it is. That's a big reason why doing your makeup the same way you always have since high school is usually a bad idea....well that, and the fact that it means you could be in a rut, too.
