*prolonged high-pitched wailing*
“What is the matter, Elizabeth? Such emotionalism is unseemly in a child your age.”
“Oh Mother! Taluhk has destroyed my botany assignment! It’s totally wrecked!”
“Do not exaggerate, daughter. There appears to be a portion remaining.”
“Mother, Taluhk has consumed approximately 95.5 per cent of my botany assignment.”
“That is better, ko’fu.”
“She has eaten it! Why would she do that? Sehlats are carnivores!”
“What was the nature of your homework, Elizabeth?”
“It was a collection of pressed leaves, with a description and requirements of cultivation for each parent plant.”
“Ah. I see. While sehlats do not ingest vegetable matter often, they may do so under certain circumstances. It can aid in the ejection of fur swallowed while grooming, or induce vomiting if the animal is feeling ill. Where did you last see Taluhk?”
“She was lying on my bed…
*sound of distant retching*
