Re: FEDCON, Dallas, TX (June 13-15, 2008)
I tried to ditch mine at first, back in October, (thinking he would hate it) but now, I'm glad he came and so's he! (When we 1st met in 1996, I had just been to a bunch of cons, and he was all: wow. weird girl. and he got away without going to a con for 12 years or thereabouts, and now he's no longer a virgin. He's a virile Klingon warrior. )
Cost a lot more, but we had a great time.
I don't think I'm even going to add up what this con cost, as it's done and I don't wanna know. It's very very very bad.
((The more I innocently use the word "con" to describe this particular con, the more I laugh, as it really was a bit of a con.))
We had a crazy busy day today and so I posted nothing, bt tomorrow I reaaaallly will.
The baby is "probably" a girl, but not really for sure. S/he was hiding the crucial bits rather modestly most of the time. So....we don't know. Ah well. You never know 100% anyway. I came home, had a nap and dreamed it was a boy. Hmmmm.
S/he's cute as a button in its ultrasoundic way, and appears to be healthy and due on Nov 11! I'll scan its wee face tomorrow.
Got my photo-op photo (the only one I got...on Fri (the 13th))
How innocent we all were.
(I added a bit to the top left).

Sigh, babies and conventions! That's the life. But I will leave the whole birth followed by months of getting up at 3 am to you youngsters! I enjoy being a grandma too much.
Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.
Re: FEDCON, Dallas, TX (June 13-15, 2008)
I'll do everything in my power to get there.
If one was going budget... it isn't absolutely necessary to stay in the Hilton... but it's a lot of fun. The first year I went, I didn't stay in the Hilton, and it was a blast, but it wasn't the same as the next year. You're just much more emersed in the environment. So much is going on at Creation events that you would have to be an insane planner to actually KNOW each event is occuring. For the most part you catch some of the little fun things (not the paid events) by just walking around the hotel all day.

I've posted a review of our experiences over at their Convention thread at We Want Brunette Jolene. I hope everyone is happy with my portrayal of them. Jokes are made in fun

That report is exceptionally well-written. Very entertaining. BTW, when I said I wanted to go to cons to meet the writers, I meant YOU GUYS. Alelou? Can you be talked into this Vegas thing. That might tip the scales for me. It would still be a totally outrageous and unjustified expense for me . . . . hmm . . . you only live once.

Sorry, no. My son and I are visiting the old folks down upon the Suwanee River (well, in Florida anyway) that week.
But we're both East Coasters. We could figure out a way to get together. My husband actually has a thing for Pittsburgh, and our part of New York is beautiful too.

I thought I would drop in and see if anyone from TriS shared our experiences at FedCON '08 or as we have taken to calling it, NonCon '08. Distracted's dirty little mind pointed out the possible sexual implications of that lovely little sobriquet, but what the hell, it just may be appropriate
We were going to perform a scene from IAMD where D walks down the isle, phaser rifle in hand... and pulls me out of the crowd to escort me off stage (apparently under arrest and in the context of playing a pseudo MU/RU Trip, probably hoping there are cuffs involved).
You make me sound so kinky.
Cool.

Wonderful! So, I'll start cleaning now . . . My house doesn't look much like a vacation timeshare at the moment.

That's very good of you. Set a date with me and I'll never start cleaning until about 24 hours beforehand...
I'm so bad in the house. So bad! BAD MOMMY.
Put down the mouse and go vacuum, bad mommy. I even have a brother-in-law coming in today and I'm still not cleaning. OR writing the press release that was my excuse to sit down instead.

Re: FEDCON, Dallas, TX (June 13-15, 2008)
I really can't. I have an 88-year-old Grandma, two parents, and a godchild who are all expecting my visit and I already have the tickets. But thank you for nagging me, it feels nice. Maybe next year...
