You tell 'em, sister!

BY THE WAY, ELESSAR. I was two weeks short of my 40th birthday when I got my black belt so my metabolism hasn't change THAT much in 5 years. :-X I added "Muscle confusiuon" workouts to my schedule twice a week and I gained a couple of pounds recently, but my body fat has actuallt gone down a little which means I am replacing fat with muscle, so it's okay. I guess I just don't like it when I see a couple of extra pounds on the scale.

Awwww now he didn't really mean it Aikiweezie and it is a scientific fact that most women have harder times losing weight after their 20's it's because of the basic difference in physiology between men and women. Poor guy was just telling the truth.

Getting old isn't much fun, but it sure beats the alternative.

Not to be morbid but I can think of a few things worse than death.

Sure, but I don't think that getting old is one of them. Unless you subscribe to the 'live fast, die young, leave a beautiful body' school of thought. I prefer 'live fast, die reluctantly, leave a huge pile of debts'. I'm mainly focussing on the third one at the moment.

Isn't a damn one of you that is anywhere near old. Fer Petes saje (sorry cogito) in your second decade. You are a kid. Still wet behind the ears. Give it another 50 years before you start bragging how old you are. As it has been said "Being old isn't for sissy's"

ell when you are 50 you will long for being 30 again. when everything worked as it should you could party all night and work all day and do it again the next night.

Old is when you just wheeze when you see some one of the opposite sex who is atrtractive go by and you are not sure why you are wheezing.

Old os not being really sure if you will wake up in the morning. You have known too many people who died that were in apparent great health but didn't wake up in the morning.

I got some wrist straps for lifting, they're really nice. It took me awhile to figure out how to use them but once I got it down it let me lift a lot heavier on back exercises because it's no longer about your grip strength.

I'm still light, unable to put on mass but... still getting stronger so I'm not complaining.

I have a genuine question - someone said they think I've gone 'too far', but I haven't even gained much weight. What do you guys think? I mean, I hear women like drop to their knees when Jacob Black comes on screen with his manimal physique  so I have a hard time believing that there is such a thing as too far except for like, ya know, doin roids and raging out.

I've got no comment on the aesthetics of it, but I remember Geof Capes, who was Britain's strongest man for quite a long time, said that he couldn't hold a pen to write his name any more because he had knackered all his joints by overworking them. I forget how old he would have been at that time but I think probably early forties. Probably you have a fair way to go before you have to worry about that but I think that is your main worry if you over do it - joints aren't designed to cope with that sort of repetitive movement under high load.
