As someone who, frankly, doesn't like the whole lolcats thing (maybe 'cause I can't stand cats), I
did find this mildly amusing.
LOLthulhu.

You hate cats, but you like Cthulhu.
That figures.

I like cats and Cthulhu.
LOVE that site.
Asso's statue looks like a combination of Sehkmet and Tauret.

People still honor Bast (Bastet)! At Pagan Spirit Gathering in Ohio each year, there is a Bast shrine.

You are right!
Tauret (London: British Museum). Late Kemet saw an increase in animal cults and the ability to capture the essence of sacred animals in faience, stone and bronze. Tauret is a female hippopotamus (Thoueris) that represented fertility and helped in childbirth.
Sekhmet, with the head of a lion and the body of a woman, delivered the punishments of the gods. She is associated with healers who were designated "pure-priest of Sekhmet", especially in incantations against the plague. Amulets of Sekhmet were thought to protect the wearer from a premature death. She is also known as the goddess of the southern sycamore at Memphis.
Her name means "The Powerful One", and She is linked in some tales with Hathor. She is depicted as a woman with the head of a lioness, sometimes also with the Sun disk and uraeus on Her headdress, who symbolizes the destructive heat of the sun. Sekhmet, Her husband Ptah, and Their son Nefertum or Imhotep make up a triad of deities especially worshipped in Memphis. She is also closely connected with Bast, the cat-headed Goddess of pleasure and luxury
But I prefer this Sekhmet.

No,
Linda, it's the other way around. Most of the drinking cat's sorrows stem from the moderator cat's refusal to acknowledge his internet addiction.
