Yes, this is a real picture, and that is a real cat which has chased a real baby black bear up a tree, despite the cat being maybe two bites of a meal in size for said bear.

Does that mean that Le-matyas (cat-like creatures) are more dangerous then sehlats (bear-like creatures) on Vulcan? I don't hear of Vulcans having Le-matyas as pets.

Uh, about my rabbit. The vet thinks she is on the upper end of rabbit intelligence, but still a full rabbit genetically, no human DNA hiding in her genes.

Well, I read somewhere that Le-matyas are supposed to be cat-like creatures. And yeah, venomous - I had one do a number on the inside of a Vulcan's aircar in one of my stories, LOL. That was fun to write. Poor Samik! We gave that guy a hard time, me and the Le-matya.

All cats are evil, it's just a matter of to what degree. ;)

Looks like a big green lioness to me, btw.

Yeah, cats have an evil range. Hey, they are preditors, like humans. I was visiting friends years ago, and nursing my six month old baby, while their cat was stalking around the chair I was sitting in. The cat was after the baby, not me. That cat was sneaky, trying to avoid me while biting (hard) and scratching at my baby's feet and hands. The look in that cat's eyes, it meant bloody business. I gave that cat one hell of a kick in the ribs which sent it flying across the room. And I certainly am not sorry about that. Of course preditors do go after the young of the species they prey upon, so that is natural behavior. But to any mother...when your own child is the victim, the preditor ie EVIL.

But I am not against cats. I have lived with some very nice cats.

But they also have a great history!

The goddess Bastet, represented at first like a lion and then with the human body surmounted by the head of a cat. Bastet was the goddess of song, of dance, of fertility of the men and of the animals and of love. In her left hand it was an amulet eye -cat of shaped, the utchat, that had magical powers, and was reproduced in the decorations of the houses, to protect against thefts, illnesses and carving. Like jewel to put on, it watched the travellers and was omen for numerous offspring for the new spouses. Many think that the names used along time to define the cats are coming from utchat: for example, the French chat. Every year, in occasion of the festivity of the goddess, the pilgrims were giving to her as gifts precious objects and the embalmed bodies of their cats.
