There were two different organised tours. One in the Highlands/Isle of Skye and another in the Borders, And yes, the Borders are very pretty, but I prefer the Highlands - for no other reason than that they're more different than other landscapes. I did manage to cram a lot into one week, but that also meant I missed much.

Next time, though, you might include the Isle of Mull and maybe some of the pretty little fishing villages in Fife... :)

Yeah, like I said, I missed much since I was only there a week. There is still much unseen things to discover so I'll definitely have to get back there someday. :)

You can perhaps tell the Scottish Parliament is a new phenomenon from the style of the building (most of my relatives despise the building, but one of my younger cousins liked it).

I trust you got to see Princes Street and the Princes Street gardens? It's fairly hard to avoid them, especially if you ever take the train or want to go to the National Gallery or the Royal Academy.

It's so pretty there. I wish it wasn't such a test of endurance (and my wallet) to get there.

That plane trip sure sucks, doesn't it? I'm hoping to win the lottery soon so I can fly first class the next time I go some place that takes longer than two hours to get to by plane.

It's honestly not so much duration as jet lag for me. I do fine flying back home from the UK. I did fine flying to Hawaii. It's flying East that kills me. I don't know how people manage flights to really distant places (like New Zealand!).

The trip out (West) is not so bad - the journey back, though, is a killer.

I didn't care much for it either, especially since it's right opposite Holyrood Palace,

Alas, Prince's Street was thoroughly dug up since they're building a new tramway. And the gardens were closed when I went down there. It was in the evening so I missed the opening hours.

Ah, that's too bad. Something for next time. Not that it really amounts to much more than a big park, but it's pretty, especially with the old part of the city looming up above it.

A tramway, huh? That's neat.

Sigh, such beauty! I keep meaning to get over to Scotland to visit. I still have relatives there that I keep in touch with, even though it was a hundred years ago when my grandparents immigrated to New York in 1913.
Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.
