Actually, to interrupt the hilarity, this shot and all the "camera tests" I saw on the movie DVD last night make me realize how much being able to look cool in photographs is part of the job. And it strikes me that it could be tougher than just plain acting, where presumably you've got other actors and the script to bounce off of. I look at this shot and I see Bakula thinking, "Okay, just look manly and tough for the frickin' photographer already and then maybe I can get this frickin' scene shot before I die of heat stroke."

Trinneer often looks a little weird to me in his ST publicity shots. I think ShouldKnowBetter describes it as "hostile and arrogant." He's just not that tough-guy looking when he's actually acting, and his face is usually so mobile that the manly man Sears Roebuck poses seem really strange from him.

I guess it's that need to look "cool." Usually it's so not what they're about when they're in character and actually performing a scene. Thank God.

Yup, he looks a little pissed....One of our local news stations show outtakes of their news staff posing for those publicity shots they use in their commercials. They are very funny to watch because it is really uncomfortable for them and they end up making funny faces or laughing a lot.
