I just read about it this evening. I really hope they do a better job this time.

Me, too. The old standards aren't going to wash these days, I don't think.

It would be great to see attractive female leads *not* poured into a catsuit, and mature, competent characters who don't need to act like twelve year olds in order for the plot to happen. (Yes, 'A Night In Sickbay', I'm looking at you!)

Don't hold your breath, hoping for something good. Maybe if the series had been on AMC or a Netflix/Amazon Original. As I understand it, it will be handled by the same people who did the reboot so if the second film was any indicator don't hope for much. Not to mention the fact that CBS wants to charge the viewers $6.00 per month to watch everything after the pilot. Furthermore, there can be up to 4 commercials per break so figure at least 5 2 minute breaks in a 1 hour show. Not to mention that it will probably forbid fast forwarding.

I was horrified by the first reboot movie. Couldn't bring myself to watch the second one. If the same crew is doing the show, then I have zero hope for it.

Merry Christmas, everyone!!! I hope you're enjoying all the holidays you favor. As far as I'm concerned, this time of year can use all the help it can get.

I'm in the mood for holiday stories. Any recommendations?

I am sure there are a bunch. The first one that came to mind, was A Sixpence at Christmas By Lt. Zoe Jebkanto. If you go to the archive and search for Christmas, I am sure you will find others.

Have a great Christmas everyone! Hubs has been in the hospital for more than a week now, so it's a different Christmas, bus also a very special one!

And when you're reading Christmas stories, don't forget this one: http://www.triaxiansilk.com/index.php?p ... ry&id=1023

And on request of my son: a smiley: :D :D and he likes the giant monkey: :evilmonkey: 8)

Thanks. Those were both great suggestions.

Panyasan, I hope your husband is feeling much better. My mother as in the hospital at Christmas two years ago. It was a very different Christmas, but also special.

With something less than two hours of 2015 left to go on this side of the Pond, may I take the opportunity of wishing everyone on here an extremely happy and prosperous New Year!

Happy New Year, everyone!

We had a very pleasant, quiet celebration of the New Year, featuring an updated version of several Southern classics (kale chips, black-eyed pea spread and pimento cheese). That was mostly in memory of my mother, but of course, those things might appeal to a certain Chief Engineer :).

I'm looking forward to many good things in 2016, including more great fan fiction.

I saw this when I checekd the forum:

WHO IS ONLINE
In total there are 6 users online :: 1 registered, 0 hidden and 5 guests (based on users active over the past 5 minutes)
Most users ever online was 152 on Thu Jan 28, 2016 9:55 am

What happened yesterday? What did I miss? 152 persons online? :D :D

If there were 152 folks online here yesterday, I wasn't one of them. Guess I didn't get the memo...

I have no idea how these stats are developed. I do know that some stats such as the number of users vary by over 25% depending upon the page. So having 152 visits to the site on a given day isn't that surprising. I assume a visit is based upon unique IP addresses requesting access to one or more pages. However, a single guest user reading a series of stories could develop quite a number of hits if they moved between multiple Wi-fi locations and possibly connected by a cell connections.

For what its worth there are over 350 registered users (with registration being necessary to post a comment or reply to a forum post).

Just my opinion, and while it may not seem like it to those who are dedicated readers, for occasional readers TriaxianSilk is easy to find and read stories on and still posts relatively new material. With the exception of FanFiction.net which I find difficult to navigate and AO3 (which has its own issues), many sites are relatively stagnant.
