Sorry I have been MIA for a month or so but hadn't been feeling well. Ended up in the local ER and guess what. I have Congestive Heart Failure from undetermined cause. I have always been a good boy going to my annual physicals and the stress tests, the other less pleasant exams and doing what the doctor says, mostly. I even went in to see him back in September cause something wasn't right but we found nothing.

Anyway after four days in the hospital getting my heart drained I am on meds (first time in my life for anything), a low sodium diet and some restrictions on fluid intake. They are confident they can manage the condition (its permanent) if I comply with their orders (no problem here.)

lesson learned: trust your instincts, if you don't feel right keep pursuing it don't let your BP get to 187:155 before heading the the hospital. Soon as my meds get adjusted better so my head is clear most of the time I will be back on my story!

Sorry to hear you're under the weather, Weeble. I guess the local fish population has gained a respite...at least for a little while. But think how much they'll have grown once you're back in the saddle again!

Sorry to hear about your illness, Weeble. I'm having a few health issues too, related to aging mostly, I suppose, but none quite as critical as yours sounds. I'm glad yours are being diagnosed and you have a plan for maintaining your health. I hope you are feeling better soon and get to enjoy the activities you want to participate in.

Thanks Dis, Linda 73Bruin, actually feel pretty good. I am looking forward to the "med" tweaks that will hopefully smooth out the fuzzyheaded peaks I am experiencing during the day.

Weeble Update,

Cardiologist was very happy with todays first follow-up. No new restrictions on diet or behavior, positive changes in meds and I can slightly increase daily fluids (to 72 fluid ounces max).

Now where did I put that story....

Hey Dis, the wife found a bread recipe that I am making that has only 13.65mg Sodium in the entire loaf, really helps keep the Sodium down.

Late, and I'm sorry about this, but I'm here. I too had some health problems, but less "intense" than yours, Weeble.
All I can say is I'm more, more, more, more than happy you're recovering.
Take care of yourself. Your friends "need" you are fine.
