I decided that rather than go another round trying to get an agent, I'm just going to self-publish my first novel... and keep going if it works out. I'm aiming to have the first one in online stores by September. Wish me luck!

Nice!

Good luck! When you say online stores, will it be available to order in both print and ebook?

I'm just going to e-pub to begin with. I'll do a print run if there's enough demand.

Thank you! I'll keep you posted on this new enterprise (nyuck, nyuck). I may also try to pick the brains of any website-savvy folks. Besides end-of-the-semester grading, I've spent much of the day trying to figure out why gmail is going spastic on me now that I have two separate accounts. To make this work I'm going to need to communicate with people without having to log into my account again every 30 seconds.

And then there's the more mundane matter of the leaking washing machine cut-off valve (so far we can turn it off, but we like to actually use our washing machine sometimes). Of course, that leads to questions about the butchered pan underneath it that has needed to be replaced since the day 10 years ago that our new washer was not installed by the guys who said it wouldn't fit. (I cut it to slide the machine in myself if only so I could still pass through that hallway and discovered that it would have fit just fine.) Then there's the realization that the reason people start looking for cover from attack when our machine enters the spin cycle is that was installed on subfloor and the carpet run AROUND it (and carpet is a stupid thing to have in a laundry area...). And then there's the overdue dryer vent cleaning (who designs a dryer vent to run behind/underneath 20 feet of interior walls or floors or whatever the hell is going on with this???).

I'm trying to figure out the most logical solution here that doesn't cost too much money. If I had unlimited funds and no need to worry about resale value or drain plumbing I'd just move the whole laundry business to the basement where it poses less of a risk to the rest of the house.

What operating system are you using on the machine you use to access your gmail?

Is the gmail an issue of trying to go back and forth between accounts?

I have two gmail accounts as well, and I know that you cannot be logged in to both of them at the same time in the same browser, however it does appear that you can have both open if using two different browsers (I just checked - I had one account open in IE and another in Chrome, and was able to send an email with one that arrived no problem in the other, while being signed in to both). But, when using the same browser, if you go and log into the second account while the first is open, it will automatically log you out of the first - in IE it will leave the first inbox page as-is, and will only pop up with a message saying you've logged out when you go to click on something within that inbox (so it's a bit misleading, especially if you've forgotten that you've logged in to the other in a separate tab), while Chrome will automatically send that first inbox page to the log-in screen.

Not sure if that's the problem you're encountering, but if so, that's probably why. I know it's an annoyance for me, because I use the two accounts for very different things and do not have any crossover between them. It also drops you out of the online access for the Google Drive associated with the first account, which is a problem if you've been working on something and completely forgot it was attached to that GD before you sent to log into the other account, although thankfully it has no bearing on what you might be working on that is synched directly from your computer through the GD installed on the computer itself (which is where most of my work takes place).

Would you consider using a mail client instead of web mail? There are various free email clients that support multiple email accounts, including gmail. I use Windows Live Mail for convenience, but it's not the only one.
