Its Christmas 2012

Postby Weeble » Thu Dec 20, 2012 5:09 pm

I have noticed a sense of despondence on the board lately. SO......

Its time for a Christmas thread.

This thread is intended to give a giggle or a bit of comfort or maybe a suggestion or two. i figured we could:

1. Give titles of favorite TnT/Enterprise Xmas stories for those rare moments when we can hide during the season and read.
2. Offer some of our own Christmas food suggestions, ya know stuff that gets done once a year that we wonder why only once a year. (and calories and ingredients are not to be counted)
3. Stories of our own dysfunctional families that might help others realize that there is no such thing as normal.
4. Perhaps you tubes (seasonal)

anything else that seems to fit. I know there is some overlap with other threads, but it is Christmas time darn it!

Happy Ho Ho

><((((º>i think i'm safe for a week

As a lead off,

One of my old favorites that the in-laws even like is a simple finger food (i call 'em cockroaches):
take a pitted date, put a dollop of cream cheese on it and top with a pecan half. yummie

Ahem, am I committing a little sin of presumption if I suggest one of my stories?
This here.

And speaking of Christmas cakes, how about this?

Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

We used to call 'em stuffed roaches, Weeble, though we passed on the pecans. Sounds yummy either way.

I'm still catching up from grading and being away briefly for the funeral of a family friend, but I'm very much looking forward to settling in with some overdue fanfic I don't have to squint to try to read on a phone. Heck, maybe I'll even get a chapter written. But first I have to get a Christmas tree and mail the cards...
OMG, ANOTHER new chapter! NORTH STAR Chapter 28

picked up some spiced pecans, carmel and savory among other things, very tasty

All done with the tree and cards, just picked up the last gift on the list. I'm down to wrapping, cooking and eating. I think it will be a 5 pound Christmas for me. My weight rarely changes, but there is something in the air.

oh and a useless youtube but its the only copy of the song

Grandma got run over by my chevy - Manic Hispanic,

That's a great sequence of pictures, Asso, and a great story to go with it.

Speaking of oddly morbid Christmas songs, there's this little story I wrote a few years ago.

This story by Crystalswolf doesn't have much to do with the season except the title, but I sure like it anyway. 8)
