Fall Colors and stuff

World Series is an hour or so away so more pics...



and finally this is where I spend most of my time. My neighbor built the place, his dad did the stone work on the fireplace (note the howling wolf).

We're down to oaks and beeches for the most part, but I've been kind of amazed this fall at how many different colors you can get just from oaks -- here's a row of four saplings from our and our neighbor's front yard (not a great photo, but you can see the colors):

I have one little oak in the front yard. Its leaves go from green to brown and drop in March....

We have quite a few of those too, Weeble, except that most of them drop their leaves around Christmas, just when I thought I could finally stop trying to rustle leaves.

I'm not sure whether the drought this year might have brought out more color in the oaks. It's been a very light year for acorns, though.

ZOMFG That house looks the deal, man. You'd pay a fortune over here for something like that.

It is currently valued at around $100,000. I paid much more than that. The good news is the property taxes are paid on the current value. Its sits on 11.5 acres. The best part is very few neighbors. None across the street ( a square mile of state land) and only two mailboxes within a half a mile.
