I hope that's not meaning to say - "Gee, there should be semi-automatic rifles there, too".

I'm of the opinion that after enough target practice, one bullet is usually enough... until you miss.

Or until you are forced to try to kill something very large and determined or are getting mobbed by a whole gang of individuals intent on taking away your life/property/personal freedom, in which case more than one bullet might come in handy. ;-)

Those things, of course, are very unlikely to happen. But I am proud to live in a place where I have the legal right to be prepared for every eventuality. 8)

If that takes your fancy, ok. I know what 3 fourteen year old Somali kid soldiers with AK-47 assault rifles looked like after we pumped 800 rounds out of a MG3 "Hitler's saw" into them to save the lives of an American patrol team in downtown Mogadishou in 1992. I think no civilian ever needs a semi-automatic rifle. Dis, I like you and many other 'Mericans, but if you really think that guns solve the problems, you're clinically insane and you've never seen what a person looks like that you've just perforated with live rounds. I have. :banghead:

Hold your horses folks. We already killed off the pro/com second amendment thing. My point was the subject of the thread, because nit-wits will be nit-wits.

Yep. They sure will. And there's nothing the rest of us can do about it except defend ourselves from harm.

Sorry you had to see that, Kotik. I'm sure it was very traumatic. Unfortunately, 14 year olds can pull a trigger just as well as an adult. Once an idiot decided to arm them, there wasn't anything else to do but remove the threat. A very tragic situation all around.

Sorry this came up again. As I said before, this subject is politically charged. Time to drop it again. I apologize for pursuing it this far.

On a lighter note, the wife and I have determined that we have a (or more) red squirrel(s) in the house. I have no doubt that something stupid will happen in the eviction process. Stay tuned!

Weeble, I've heard good things about the "Rat Zapper Ultra" (as long as we're talking about Americans being violent against wildlife and each other). It was from someone who used it against squirrels.

Or you could buy a couple of Havahart traps and set the squirrels loose in the closest park. That's what we did with the family of racoons in our attic. Unless you like squirrel. I always thought they were kinda chewy myself.

Thanks for the suggestions. I like squirrel too. We have the big fat brown variety outside, yummy. Unfortunately we have the small red annoying good for nothing kind on the inside. They will probably go for a ride, unless I just drown em.

Stupid potential is increasing. Wife and I did our homework and ordered the Ultra Rat Zapper, thanks for the suggestion Alelou. Of course when it showed up this morning, it was not the Ultra Rat Zapper but the Raticator. Now the debate is whether to send it back or give it a go.
I was already getting my Taliban outfit on and screaming "Death to American squirrels!" Now I have to pause, its just not fair :banghead:

Yeah, I noticed that change since I had it floating in my "not yet" shopping cart at Amazon. If you use it, let me know how it works out. I'm a little worried about accidentally doing in small cats and birds and such.

Just out of interest. Since squirrels are not exactly known for eating children or other grevious acts. How about a conventional trap that leaves them alive? :crazed: How hard can it be to trap a small animal and bring it back to the wild?
