This was a really interesting movie from the Kazuo Ishiguro novel, which I haven't read yet. I found it so much more watchable and plausible as science fiction some other stuff with similar themes. There's a Joyce Carol Oates short story that's nicely creepy on the same subject, but I don't know that anyone has ever made a movie of it.
Bloody, violent Repo Men is slightly related, I guess, but eventually it got so wearying I gave up on it (which is probably good since I can't spoil you about the ending).

British. It does not appear to have enjoyed wide release. It's definitely not an action flick. The novel was considered crossover science fiction-literary and I'd say the movie appears to fit that.

Basic plot summary? Or is it impossible to do without spoiling the whole thing?

Re: Never Let Me Go
Love triangle among three children who we see grow into adults (apparently clones) who are being raised in a special boarding school specifically to ultimately donate their organs 2 or 3 or 4 times before they ultimately "complete." I think what's creepiest about it is that this is not really hidden from the children at all -- they are being raised as kindly as possible, considering, given a special sense of their role in life. It's become an accepted part of society, and they just have to cope with it. It's supremely creepy because it's so damned ordinary.
I'm not sure this could work as an American film. We'd all be wondering why they didn't just run off into the wilderness somewhere.

Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes.
Re: Never Let Me Go
Sounds a bit like The Island, but without Scarlett Johansson.

I've seen The Island, too -- and I enjoyed it, but it's much more of an action adventure flick -- and those folks have no idea what's going on until they figure it out. It's obviously a sneaky criminal enterprise, as well. I consider this one much creepier because the society just accepts the roles these clones have and expects them to as well.
