Re: The Whine thread.
My 5 year old has a very nasty stomach virus this AM. I'm working on my third load of laundry now and taking a break to whine about it. Poor little Abby.

Ah, just what a mother does - worry about her child first! Sick children always pull at a mother's heart strings. Hope Abby gets better soon. I hate stomach aches worse than headaches.
But since you didn't whine so much for yourself as for your child, I will whine for you:
POOR BETHER, ON HER THIRD LOAD OF LAUNDRY!!!
There, that's better. I hate laundry. I make my husband do it, mostly.

Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.

Re: The Whine thread.
Thanks, Linda. I ended up doing 6 loads, but I am surviving. Oddly, the little one stopped getting sick almost as quickly as she started. Maybe it was a touch of food poisoning, I don't know. Sigh. Parenting is tiring and stressful sometimes, but well worth it.
That brings something to mind. A lame idea perhaps...but maybe we should also try to think of things we are appreciative of as well as things to whine about. You know, once a sap, always a sap. Anyhow, while I wasn't delighted with cleaning up lots of messes this morning, I am thankful that my children are generally healthy. I remember a couple of years back when a co-worker's 11 year old daughter was suddenly diagnosed with CML leukemia. Boy, was that ever a wake-up call. She had a bone marrow transplant and is doing well now. So far anyway. But I guess the point being that nothing in life is guaranteed. Last week, a former co-worker's son was struck and killed by lightning. Hug your babies. Life's too short.
Or you could think of something else to be thankful for, like having a place like this to speak freely at or even the cute little baby goslings that live in the pond across the street. Or some gigantic sword...To each his or her own. Anyhow, don't mind me. Just trying to create some positive energy. It's worth a shot. Between gripes anyway.

Re: The Whine thread.
I freak out whenever my kids get sick. My youngest almost *died* from dehydration when she was about 18 months old because of some stomach virus she caught. The poor thing was hospitalized and every kid there had the same thing. Anyhow -she's the same age as yours, Bether.
You just reminded me of how precious our little ones are.

Oh I hate that!
I had a roomie in the Army who used to do that to me all the time.
It was horrible.
What made it worse was she always picked the times when I was in a major dry spell.

What kind of place is this? Aren't there any rules?

Yep there's plenty rules, the only thing we lack is people who actually respect them.

^ if there weren't any rules, being a bad ass wouldn't be so much fun.

Re: The Whine thread.
Well it's not really about like being a "bad ass" as much as that they just like totally don't care about anyone or anything but themselves. Frelling egotistical tralks.
