Courtesy of our own mad genius mjimeyg, I give you the TriSilk Google Earthmapper!

[cue only slightly less cheesy music than Captain Proton's]

Note: Only works in Firefox, I.E. and Google Chrome.

Interesting gadget. Too bad I would have to have hand-eye coordination to actually use it. 8)

All those little spots on the globe are places where a TriS member lives, right?

Well, that's cool, but Vero isn't showing up down in South America. Maybe it's just people online?

Actually it pulls ip addresses from the php board, so if you log on but hide your IP address, then you won't show up. It only shows registered users, not visitors.

Of course there are probably other reasons why cities don't show up. Can't think of any myself as the program is actually very simple from a programming perspective.

I saw one in Central District, China - and I had thought we blocked all IPs from China (no bias intended folks - but most hacks, worms and hijackings come from China). What's up with that, is it some kind of automated machine or a real user?

I was curious about a few of these... one in Tel Aviv... 2 in Athens... I think I recognize Priso and EP because they're coming from the same Canadian city . It actually doesn't show me, either

Very Trekkie yes, not quite what we were going for though.

Did you download the plugin or the actual google earth app?

You'll need the plugin, if you did, try a refresh.

Remember... earth is a big mainly blue and green ball... if it looks red you need to hang a left.

:guffaw: I wasn't going to tell, but actually I am from Mars. I thought I downloaded the plugin - could be wrong. I would your suggestions, but by now the "download here" is gone and there is no sign of a refresh. Never mind, it did give me an idea for a story about black holes.
