Having just returned from a turbulent stay in Egypt, where I experienced the second (more or less) peacefull revolution in my life, I remembered the things over here 20 years ago. The major factor to the peacefull collapse of the communism in Europe was Mikhail Gorbatchev and that reminded me of two things. First of all there's "Winds of Change", a rock-ballad by German Hardrock band "The Scorpions", which became the de-facto anthem of all east-european revolutions and second - something I experienced 3 years ago while living in Russia. The russian version of "American Idol" or "X-Factor" whatever, invited the Scorpions to perform "Winds of Change" with Gorbatchev as guest of honour. It was one of those magic moments. I still get misty-eyed when remembering it...

Why's it odd? The Scorpions have always sung in English. They did a Russian version on the early 90's, but it was rarely performed.

A scene and song from Casshern Sins. Just to summarize a bit, this takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where everything is either dead or dying, including the would-be robot overlords. It's all Casshern's fault, only he doesn't know what he did or even who he really is, but most everyone he meets tries to kill him. The little girl, Ringo, is about the only character to actually much care for him. The woman who's helping him actually starts out wanting to kill him at the start of the series but comes around. Basically Casshern wanders and comes across someone he tries to help. I say "tries" because usually they end up dying. The woman singing is one of the few who he manages to save.
