Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

The engineer said, 'Look, I'm an engineer. I don't have time for a
girlfriend, but a talking frog, now that's cool.'

But they were all wonderful!

Yeah, I had to laugh at them too. I already knew the mechanical engineers vs. civil engineers one, but they were all pretty good.

Then again:

There are, it has been said, two types of people in the world. There are those who, when presented with a glass that is exactly half full, say: this glass is half full. And then there are those who say: this glass is half empty. The world belongs, however, to those who can look at the glass and say: What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

So I said to Priso that it would be a neat idea to make Star Trek tarot cards and sell them to Simon and Schuster or some one and you'd be raking in the (much-skimmed) royalties forever. And you could go to cons and stuff. And then I cynically realised that someone had likely done it already.

And cynically, the universe proved me right. :(

Here's the good ones.

Got an e-mail from Amazon today saying thanks to a recent DVD purchase I'm eligible for 12 free issues of Us Weekly but since I don't live in the US and can't use it I'm thinking I could probably register someone from this board to receive it if they're interested.

Total randomness: My favorite singer, American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken, came out as gay. No big surprise, but the interview is fascinating. I'll probably be jumped on for saying this, but Clay Aiken strikes me as a very honest person. He wrote a book (had a book ghost written) about his life: "Learning to Sing: Hearing the Music in Your Life." Yes, I know it sounds dippy, and it's written in giant 2nd-grade print, and it's a quick read, but it's SO interesting. All kinds of terrible things happened to him. Being picked on at school, beaten by his stepdad, ignored by his biological father, and the suicide of a half-sister who called him to talk the night before she died and he didn't pick up. And then there is the class of autistic children he taught and how he campaigned and lost a battle for the integration of special needs children into summer camps. He doesn't try to cram his story into any standard "triump over adversity" type narrative. There is no resolution other than, oh well, that's what happened. It's behind me now. You can tell from his story that he is either asexual or gay because he goes on and on whatever he wants and he is not passionate about girls. He is passionate about many things. It's very fascinating for it's honesty. Same with the recent interview about coming out as gay. This is in People Magazine.
I'm donating my body to science fiction.
