I am trying to adjust to the new look, but I may go back to the old one.

The biggest problem is that the new one doesn't clearly show who is posting. The name of the poster is far too small and is overshadowed by the much larger subject title. If a user has no avatar it's even less clear.

The separation between posts is also too indistinguishable.

Just my two ören.

You can either have the old theme (which is default)
--or--
The new theme

You can select which one you want in your profile. I might post a howto later.

Thank you, and thanks for changing it for me too. :)

Just a quick note to say I'm playing with some settings again. There shouldn't be any downtime but styles might go a bit weird. Just a heads-up.

I think that just about wraps it up. I am worried about subsystem integrity in a few places, so please keep me posted with any issues that you may notice, as you do anyway.

Many thanks, d_r

P.S. Just a heads up that we might have to go back to the new board theme, depending on whether or not the current one is causing some issues which I am currently investigating.

Taking a site snapshot prior to a board software update. Fiction and BBS systems might be a little slow for a while.

Does that last item mean our stories will have our em-dashes instead of hyphens now?

If so, HURRAH!

I'm afraid not, as this software update only affects the BBS. Sorry :(

Sorry about that little intermission folks, I got stuck in an interesting redirect loop before the update had even started, so I've reverted back and I shall look at this again at about 2100GMT.

The "active topic" listing has been erased. When I click on "View active topics" I get nothing. Is that a side effect of the update?

Yes, Asso and Panyasan and I are noticing this too, much to our chagrin, in a separate thread, since of course we didn't see this one...

Mine are working but yesterday I noticed sometimes they took hours to be sent--I found this out by checking the board, and hours later when the alert came thru, no new updates had been made to the topic since my last visit.
