But the lack of zooming thing means your ip address is not available so the program can't track you on the globe. Which also explains why none of the pins point to you.

I am fiddling about a bit with the code that puts it all on the map... fortunately it has nothing to do with the rest of the board.

I checked a lot of the original users in the database and most don't have an ip address so I have altered the code to log the most recent address into the database. I am also trying to make it add you based on the address you put in the location field in the profile.

Of course... I have NO idea where River's Bunk or Mirror Universe will show up.

I got it to convert the data in the location field in to coordinates, from there it was child's play (literally these days, kids are programming their own games!)

So... Distracted and JustTripn are both visible on the map.

How do we find ourselves? I'm still just getting Gonzales when I click on the only yellow pin in Louisiana.

Are you looking on the map on the front page? If you are then look at the top of the map just above it, there are four options: Standard, Users, Friends and Online.

If you click Users you should be able to see yourself... or at least... a marker and your details.

I can see Distracted's marker on the map in roughly the right place. If you don't see it, I wonder whether there may be some sort of caching issue.

I can find myself under "Users" but not under "Standard". But at least I'm on the map.

As before, I see only a the black void. Nothing to be seen. Not a single light. I also have no idea how to mark my place or something like that. I really liked the idea, but it seems its not working for me. You just have to keep on guessing where I live.

I don't see you on the map, but you should be able to see the map anyway. What browser are you using?

A very unique one: Internet Explorer.

It could be that the plugin didn't install properly for Google Earth, try going to the Google Earth site and re-installing it.

The fact that you can see a black void means that the code is there and trying to do something but the browser isn't rendering it properly. So the plugin is likely at fault.

I downloaded Google Earth, but in IE it got blocked because of safety reason. I could download it, but only in Google Chrome. So now I have Google Earth on my desk top, which is great so I can look up all kind of places. But still got a black void at this place. Just reminds me of a Voyager episode.
