Backlash from "The Pegasus" incident.
I'm trying to ask this without giving away too many fun little surprises from my fic, but...
After a quick sequence of events, I wrote Captain Riker into a situation where him, Reginald Barclay, and Tom Paris are being interrogated be a group of section 31 agents in Starfleet security. I'm trying to approach this scene from Riker's perspective (I thought all this damn Pegasus crap was burried - let's get this over with so I can take command of my new ship, etc...).
Unfortunately, the episode doesn't give any information on what happened to Riker after he was taken to the brig at the end. I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on what kind of backlash he might have recieved after the incident. It appears he only got a slap on the wrist, but I was wondering if anyone thinks it might have been a factor as to why it took so long to get a ship of his own and what might have happened after the episode ended.

Picard lets him out of the brig and they go back to business as usual. Probably just shows up as a red mark on his record.

He would have gotten away with it if Starfleet didn't discover eventually that the asteroid the Pegasus was stuck in was actually Fat Riker (TM)'s ass.
Uh but seriously... I have no idea

It's so tempting to write a parody right now...

If you don't I will. And I'm sure you're a far better writer.
