I am/was the administrator of Triptofan and one of the two authors who
posted stories there. While slim, there is a chance that some of the
stories may be finished in the future. I am still interested in
finishing my works (primarily Orator, A Vision of Power, and Devil to
Pay as these actually have completed plots in an outline) and I do have
some material on these stories that was never posted to the Internet.
What free time I have to spend writing at the moment is being used to
work on an original piece that I do hope to try to publish upon its
completion. So fanfiction has slipped to the wayside.
Triptofan, unfortunately, was run from a personal server which I can no
longer support due to a lack of bandwidth (bandwidth I now need to be
able to run a business from my home). Time had previously been a
factor, so I decided to take down the server. Due to the size and
bandwidth requirements for the site, using a free host really wasn't an
option and I don't have the money to spend on it at the moment. The
website, of course, still exists in an archival form in the chance that
I decide to post it again.
As for the stories there, well, I certainly can't stop anyone from
finishing them, though I'm strictly against the idea (as is the other
author who had stories posted there). If someone wants to write an
ending for their own enjoyment, we can't stop them. But we would prefer
that such endings aren't publicly hosted anywhere. Also, we would
prefer at this juncture that none of our stories was made available in
any form on the internet. If people have copies and want to e-mail them
to each other, once again, we cannot stop them. But I would prefer not
to have it posted on a forum or a fanfiction library without permission.
Sorry about the length of the e-mail, but I felt a bit of explanation
was worth sending to you considering the number of messages I've
received about the site in the past few days. I'm guessing you can
relay the information, being that it almost seems something of an
organized effort.
