I'm currently writing my new best-seller (cough) and would appreciate advice from the resident experts on TS. Alelou assures me all you kind folk will be able to help me out.

If T'Pol is called on to fight a duel to the death, which weapon would she be most likely to use? It would have to be one she'd have on board Enterprise or be able to have made for her fairly quickly and easily. I've picked up the information that there's a Vulcan martial art called Ke-ta-yatar that is specifically designed to be fatal, but the details are unfortunately scanty. So please may I have your expert opinions on this point, please, asking very nicely?

Making a Lirpa should not be too hard for Trip's folks.

The lirpa and the ahn'woon are the only two hand-to-hand Vulcan weapons mentioned in Star Trek canon.

Weren't the guards wielding lirpas when T'Pol and Super!Archer were in The Forge?

Or you could have her go barehanded. The Vulcan neck pinch came from some martial art, I'm sure. I would think that a Vulcan martial art would resemble jujitsu or kung fu, using the opponent's momentum against them and such. Then BAM! One efficient killing blow and it's all over. This is why a real martial arts bout to the death wouldn't be much fun to watch. It would be over in just a few seconds, just long enough for the more skilled of the two combatants to find an opening to a vital area.

I remember some Vulcan art in T'Pol's quarter and may also an antique Vulcan weapon hanging on the wall. Maybe you can have a look at pictures of her cabin and have her running to her quarters, taking one of those ancient weapons (a lipra perhaps) of the wall and fighting with it.

Sorry I am late to the party, Questions for ya? Who is demanding the fight to the death? Is her opponent Vulcan? Is it some other species calling for the duel? It may help. If you want a really nasty weapon it is Kukri, favored weapon of the Gurkas. Its a really neck and head separator.
