...this reminds me, I've heard plenty of fans state and read plenty of fanfics where it's mentioned in the writer's notes that the first official human/Vulcan couple was Sarek/Amanda and that he was the first human/Vulcan hybrid, but where exactly *is* that said, canonically (discounting games and books, that is)? I'm pretty sure the original series only had Spock half-human with no further real deliberation (and occasional source of slight over-acting ;) ), so where is that from?

Maybe they mean "official" as in married. Canonically TnT never married. In fact they broke up.

Or it could mean that the writers of Enterprise didn't give a rat's ass about continuity. Take your pick.

Canonically they didn't break up either. *the_abomination* cannot be canon as it was a holo simulation, not something that really happened.

Oh god not again. Okay can we agree that as far as the ST historians know they broke up.

Back to your regularly schedualed wonky science.

Who can forget the Lizard babies?

It was never stated that Spock was the first Vulcan/Human hybrid. :spock: That's fanon. Much like the fan "fact" that Spock was the first Vulcan in Starfleet.

Oh well, with so many retcons it's hard to keep track.

Apparently amanda and sarek wre not the first Human Vulcan couple nor were Trip and T'Pol

In e2 T'Pol said that Humans and Vulcans have never successfuly had a child. That meant there had been other Vulcan /Human couples earlier that Enterprise.

That doesn't mean they married or bonded. It just means that people attempted relationships. Or it could just mean that some Vulcans needed partners because they couldn't get back home during their Pon Farrs. The whole thing is very vague.

PS Spock was the first Vulcan accepted in Starfleet ACADEMY!

Except, that Spock wasn't a Vulcan. He was a hybrid.

He considers himself a Vulcan, he's identified as a Vulcan, but more to the point, he's a Vulcan citizen. Therefore even if a human born on Vulcan, and granted Vulcan citizenship, went to the academy before him, they would be the first "Vulcan" at SF academy.

But in the end it doesn't matter because canonically they never said Spock was the first Vulcan in Starfleet, he was the first Vulcan accepted into the academy. There is a difference.

I'm not even sure that Spock was the first canonically (half-)Vulcan in Starfleet Academy? Have a canon source for that?
