The plagerisim thing happened to one of my friend's fics, oh, last january. The person copied and pasted the entire story, but then changed the last paragraph into something so completely out there it was obvious to anyone who looked at it that s/he hadn't written the first part. We complained, naturally, and the story was eventually taken down... then, a month later, the exact same person did the exact same thing with a different story of hers.... Needless to say, it was very... bizarre.

WOW! I thought this only happened in the KOTOR secotion of ff.net! See this is why I try very hard to stay away from there. Well that and I had a stalker... But it's also why I wish so many TnTer's would post here. Like IDK Rigil, it's just safer... Sorry it happened to your friend jT.

Two days after I forced Calidora-Mallfoy to remove all her stories by accusing her of plagarism in the reviews I get this comment on my story "Reunion":

"I didn't like this. You should remove your stories they are tres shitty."

So I reposted my accusation of plagarism against Calidora-Malfoy above that comment.

So you were right uh . . . annonomous person who picked a new screenname to accuse her from.

Doesn't matter. But some people have no shame.

Don't feel bad jT. I once got a review calling me an f-ing moron. And I only wrote a story. Whoever this person is they obviously deserved to get called out, and if they resort to using profanity because they are a conversational cripple. No wonder they steal from other writers. Hold your head high and I'm proud of you fort not backing down.

That was me. I am not surprised. She's so mature.

I'm guessing she's very young. Maybe I feel that way because she is so into Harry Potter. Better to goof up and learn your lesson when you are young than later on when you can't easily say "Whoops, sorry. I didn't know!"

Maybe the rule here is to never trust someone who puts "Malfoy" in their screen name...

Don't know how people don't know these days. In high school I had the fear of plagerism so drumed into me that even when citing a source as, well, a source of information I'd go back over it half a dozen times trying to make sure it didn't sound coppied... The only good thing that ever came of it was an encylapedic knowledge of MLA.

Judging from the students I have, your high school was unusually thorough on that topic.

Depends on the teacher I think. Truthfully, I did home-schooling most of highschool. Because my school system stunk at providing for disabled students, and I was in the hospital most of the time anyway. But I did start sporatically attending college from age 16-18... College and my mom terrorized me about the immorality and utter dispicableness of plagerism. I had many a panic attack about siting a source incorrectly. Lots of tears. However I am very grateful for it.

*Shrugs* College prepatory boarding school for girls... which about says it all really. Seriously, I was home for a break one year working on one of my research papers and even my mother, who worries about everything, thought my fear of plagerism bordered on paranoia. Still, loved the school for the most part. Hated most my fellow students, but loved the school itself. But, to quote, “Well, there’s no guarantee of failure in life like happiness in high school.”
