Ohhhh yeaaaAAAAHH..... I totally forgot about that.

Designing Women is standard hospital viewing. And "Ted" we hated. He was so obnoxious, and whenever Archer tries to joke, I flash back to obnoxious Ted because they do it the same way, all snide and annoying.

Huh. He was definitely cuter when he was younger. Maybe he needed all that hair.

Well I've been thinking and I think the only way for me to get around the inconsistancy problem is to just ignore the multiple directions they had him going in and pick one. And I'm pretty sure it's gonna be consumed with starting the Federation. It's not that I think he should cut himself off completely. But I cannot see the man having cookouts with tons of people and a huge family in his old age. I see him being pretty active with work, and a lot of 22nd century pen-pals. He'll get together for major things, when he can (marriages, births, deaths) but other than that... I can see him and Erika being a "couple" but never actually settling down together. I just think maybe season 3 got him the closest to his true self.

PS Sorry I don't see him as handsome, cute, or physically attractive. Not that he's ugly, just sooooooooo not my type at all.

Well, I think he's bee-yooo-tee-ful. But then, I was a big time Quantum Leap fan. Don't much like Archer as a character, but Scott is yummy.

Yes, very yummy. Loved the sexiness he exuded in the Mirror Universe episodes. HOT!

Yeah yeah Dis so does my mother! :-P

IDK I never went for the tall dark and handsome types strictly on looks. I mean there are exceptions... David Boreanaz, Colin Firth, Eric Bana, Bradley Whitford... But for the most part, I'm a Brad Pitt type through and through. Hence my undying passion for Robert Duncan McNeill!     And of course Trip...

I've always thought Scott Bakula was very handsome, though it disturbed me a little when I realized he's the same age as my father. I think Archer was supposed to be a few years younger than Bakula was in real life, so I tried to console myself with that. :vulcan: Physically, Archer is way more my type than Trip, but Trip's personality won me over within the first few episodes.

I also didn't find Trip particularly appealing until his personality won me over. Well, that and his great arms. But since "Home" is what dragged me into the series for real, apparently I like him best when I can see him really suffering.

I really don't think Bakula is served by the very short hair. To me it just emphasizes a certain primate quality. But I think he has a very appealing physique.

Probably the guy I found most handsome right out of the gate in any ST series was Chakotay, though I could have done without the facial tattoo. Bashir was a hottie too, though I don't think his personality appealed to me very much. Spock and Scotty in TOS were early objects of affection, but Spock was the one I really went ga-ga over. I guess I go for tall-ish, dark, handsome/interesting, and at least a bit tortured.

Which might explain my husband. 8)

That describes my husband, too, Alelou! My hubby has completely the opposite personality and looks of Trip. In "real life" my husband's personality complements mine far better than a really outgoing guy like Trip's personality would.

Oh, and I completely agree with you about Archer's hair. It's just too short.

I thought every attempt was made to photo graph Bakkula at the very best. He was very rarelly phtographer from the side (makes one seem smaller) He was always face on as much as possible. He had a lot of body makeup on which made him look fitter and tanner than he probably was.

Conner said he was the outdoor type. surfing, Hikiing. so he would be tanned and fit naturaly. Bakkula never said he ws the outdoor type. I have an idea that much of his physical looks were makeup.

Too, he seemed to pose a lot as if thinking "I have to look Handsoome" Not a fault because that is what he is supposed to do. Heros are always Handsome. whoever saw a gnarly, bucktooothed Hero.

Conner was freiqently shot from the side and he looked washed out at times even though he should have been tanned and fit.

JB said she was an outdoor type too. Surfing, Martial Arts, Hiking. think her problem was her health. she looked sick often.

SB, you are really down on poor Archer/Bakula. The guy is obviously extremely fit. He sings and dances in musicals. Serious actors consider their body one of their primary performance tools and stay in shape accordingly. I really don't know why you keep seeing some dire conspiracy afoot to make Trip look bad in comparison. (At any rate, if there was, it didn't work worth crap.)

I liked Archer's hair. And intellectually I agree he's good looking. But he does nothing for me.
