6. DON'T give us another character who longs to be a human or a solid, or is ashamed of themselves in some way. This was fresh and new with Spock but a has- been by the time we get to Odo and B'ellanna

Well obviously this woman knows nothing about B'Elanna if she can't even spell her name correctly.

I'm not sure I believe him (Braga), though...

Yeah, I know what you mean. Unless of course that was actually Bakula they filmed, which would suggest it's what they had in mind.

Yes, it would be interesting to know which actor actually played that part. Although I suppose they might have gone for a stand-in for Scott even if the character was supposed to be Archer.

ETA: According to memory alpha, it wasn't Scott.

EATA: And memory alpha also says Rick Berman has stated in interviews that at no time was the identity of "Future Guy" ever developed, nor a back story created for the character.

It still would be cool. Might be a good story in there somewhere. Though, how did Archer get so far in the future? I'm really sick of "Crewman Daniels".

Future guy's silhouette and bearing are that of a younger man, so I vote for Archer becoming president of the Federation until he retires. His son becomes a privileged and crooked politician, but his grandson, in rebellion against his father and in admiration of the exciting tales told by his elderly grandfather, strikes out on his own and is recruited by the Temporal Enforcement Agency. Future Guy is Jonathan Archer, III.

Anybody who wants the idea for a fic is welcome to it. I've got way too many irons in the fire right now.

Wow. Fascinating stuff.

I suppose it's kind of encouraging that they're all (except for Berman) capable of hanging out together in this collegial manner. Seems ripe for a relaunch to me.

It does make you wonder how anything decent gets produced when you have people in charge who think that having boy bands appear on a show (any show, really, but a show set in the future especially) is a good idea.
