Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only fan who's done a mental rewrite of a certain Dr. Seuss classic. Who could resist "Phlox in Socks"?

It's not Dr. Seuss, of course, but:

Those were cute. Like I said though as a child I found DR. Seuss to be confusing and depressing. There used to be a cartoon of, "The Cat and The Hat" And watching that used to make me cry, seeing the house turned into a mess and everything used to freak me out. I used to think "Sam" was an idiot, and whoever he was talking to was mean. All in all, the Dr. gave my 3yr old self many a nervous breakdown. I can see T'Pol not wanting to expose her child to it. But that gives Trip plenty oppertunity to re-invent Dr. Seuss for his kids.

I can never even spell Seuss correctly the first time, but anyway, Dis, "The Foo-ball" is awesome! An alien like that would be super cool, and the poem captures Seuss wonderfully.

I wonder if divorce is possible in a Denobulan marriage? It would be difficult I imagine, especially custody issues. Does divorcing one husband or wife mean you divorced them all? See this is complex stuff. And can you imagine the hassle of keeping track of who is related to who so no slip-ups happen in the mating department? I mean it worse than an ancient Egyptian royal bloodline! Add to that, the fact that you can still mate with whoever you choose OUTSIDE your marriage and the complications multiply into infinity. I wonder if Denobulans are physiologically incapable of jealousy? Maybe because they're decended from lizards fidelity is a genetically moot point. So culturally faithfulness means something comepletely different. All I know is I wouldn't want to be one, there are three things I don't share... Chocolate, Coffee, and MEN. And they don't share me either.

I love Phlox. I love the way he's played, the way he talks is so unique and funny and lovable. I think I just realized that he's my favorite character. He always cares about everyone and seems like the first person you would go to a hug for when you have a bad day. (Although I think it was established that Denobulans don't like to be touched. Idk.) I especially love the relationship between Hoshi and Phlox. I always thought they're friendship was really sweet. One of my favorite little scenes with Phlox is when I think in Damage Archer's like, "Have you ever done something you though was immoral?" and Phlox says "Twice." and even though it's a little scene Phlox looks so sad, like he regrets what he did and he know's what the Captain is going to do.

So basically... I LOVE PHLOX.

I do as well. He really had a hard time if you think about it. So different from humans, so different from a Vulcan. I'm amazed he stuck around like he did.

I think it was established that Denobulan males are culturally expected to be shy and demure while the females are expected to be sex machines, which is why Phlox is uncomfortable with being touched while his wife wants horizontal recreation with everything in pants.
