I am that newbie! WarpGirls response on that valentine thread left me absolutely baffled - as far as I can see her post was largely made up of random pairs of letters.

SB I concur with jT if that was supposed to be an alternate universe, of the universe shown on TV it is a little out of whack. However if it was a part of the Mirror Universe, it makes perfect sense.

It's English, Jim, but not as we know it.

JT, an AU can be good, bad or a mix. In a mix it is not necessary that the characters are the same as in the RU. But yes, it could be MU whatever you choose to read it as.

The Prisoners story

I show him a façade without emotion or even pity

I would shout

“I love him, I love him, he is mine for all eternity”

Yet

My voice is neutral without warmth, filling him with uncertainty

I know,

The Prison which binds me, the walls and bars are of my own making.

Because

Each stone is chipped from my Heart and each bar is tears from my eyes unshed.

He looks

In my eyes but the bars there will not reveal what is in them.

So

My Prison with walls of stone and bars of Steel unknown

Still

Keeps me from the one who loves me and I love him

I think it is an interesting piece. But as so often happens with these types of character sketches on I'm alway left feeling that she's given more than her fair share of the blame. never told that he loved her. Not once! admitted to T'Les that he was in love with but he kept silent to her as well. So if was shackled in a metaphorical prison so was maybe the reasons were different but it's true.

God I love these new smilies! Come on ek you have to admit it's a god thing I asked.

WG, at the end she says he Loves her. she knew it. What she was saying is that she could not rspond the way she should. Thhat she wanted to. In the series her tone was always neutral and without warmth. Only in the forgotten was there compassion in it. She is held prisoner by her background, training and customs. So she says her prison is of her own making.
