And then dammit, I'm driving last night and on the radio comes Nickelback (who I generally find a power-chordy gener-o-rama-lama of a band) and their song "If everyone cared". I've never thought much one way or the other about that band (even though they're local canucks!) and yet the lyrics fit the show in a way:
