I know I've been hanging around slash dominated fandoms too long when I can promptly say: for the same reason straight men love to make and watch faux lesbian porn. One is good, two is better, quid pro quo.

Yeah, but I think of guys as being extremely VISUAL and I don't see most women being that way -- we're more into emotional crap and the relationship and stuff. Although judging from the way some of my home girls were drooling over Federer and Nadal this weekend, I may be completely wrong about that.

You're speaking to one of those statistical exceptions, but you're kind of missing my point, too. It's the same thing but in different mediums. Men do tend toward the visual, hence porn. Women tend toward the communicative/literal, hence fic. It's the same exact fantasy, from either side, but it's manifesting in marginally different ways. (Abstract imagery is abstract imagery, whether it's a video or a piece of writing). Also, scientfically proven trufax, women fantasize about sex as often as men do - the idea it's men who predominantly visualize is a myth.

Guess no one knows where that particular story is at. :( I'd be tempted to do a soft bondage TnT fic for the fun of it, but then I might as well do that T'Pol/Hoshi fic I've been joking about too while I'm at it.

Well, there seems to be plenty of T'Pol/Hoshi fic at that site if you want to get yourself warmed up...

Yeah, but if the guys are into each other, they wouldn't likely be interested in a woman...

Oh, wait. I'm expecting this to make sense. That could be the problem.

Totally cannot see homosexual Vulcans. It's illogical to have a partner if you can't have kids. Also, I can't see Vulcan society accepting it, at least in ENT era.

I would think even Vulcans must have to deal with certain irrepressible aspects of their nature. T'Pol certainly let certain irrepressible aspects of her nature steer her when she knew it was totally illogical.

But maybe you're right. Plenty of humans never get around to dealing with it. I swear the ex-husband of one of my friends is as gay as they come, but he's already got some new girlfriend he's not sleeping with because he is just so determined To Not Be Gay.

Which might be smart, really, given the homophobic world we live in. It can be pretty damned hard on the ladies in your life, though.

The boy just needs to find the right girl. I've met some nominally straight women who are butch as can be... and some guys who are so effeminate it makes your eyes roll... making a success of a het relationship. I really feel that for many people, it's not the equipment they fall for, it's the person. The guy who did the flowers for my wedding over two decades ago is a shining example. He's a florist and a choir director... just as girly as the day is long. His wife is a manly girl. They're absolutely made for each other. They have a daughter and have been very happily married for over 30 years now. They were a riot to watch right after their daughter was born. They had serious fertility problems, so they'd been married like 15 years when she arrived, and the wife was working full time and had no clue what to do with the child. She'd hand that baby over to Bruce every time she let out a peep, and everybody was happy. 8)

For a different perspective, head over the House of Tucker board, the Trip/Archer or Trip/Malcolm sections. I like to pop over there for occasions like "Marriage for All in California."

I find it fascinating that the Bible is used as the primary text in opposition to homosexuality when there's so much less about it in there than you'd expect if it's really such a Big Deal. Never mind that the Bible also approves of slavery, polygamy, and stoning women to death if they dare to get married without being virgins, ideas that even most fundamentalist Americans have managed to leave behind. Not that Jesus would have approved of that last one. Jesus also never pronounced on homosexuality, though he did say divorce was wrong. Meanwhile, who has the highest divorce rate in this country? Evangelicals.

Paul certainly had something to say about homosexuality, but if you ask me I'd say Paul Had Issues.

But I know -- you weren't asking me. 8)

Eh Eh!
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

To each his own, but I could relate sympathetic stories about people I know, including the couple coming over to dinner this weekend, two women, who have been together 15 years. Another "boring" married couple like me and my husband. They are happy, supportive and affectionate in a boring-married-couple-type way. If you see them together, you will believe it is the right thing.

There's this: e_e for droopy eyes. Which is about all I can safely post after staring in horrified fascination, above. Well, there's that one that implodes, too.
