Khan again? Can't they come up with something more original?

Oh yeah, that's right. Hollywood's only capable of remakes these days.

 "Clean slate" my ass. They just want to tell the same shit over again, but with a "reboot twist." Really sad thing is, for a large number of audience members, that's exactly what they want anyway. No sooner was the first one out then the Abrams Trek fanboys were all calling for a sequel with Khan, since, you know, Star Trek II was about him, and that was really their only rationale. :crazed:

:crazed: I sure hope  the rumors are wrong about a Khan reboot. I'm not happy with this story idea at all. The original movie is one of the best Tos movies Ever.I wonder what role Pter Weller and Doctor who actors and the new Sherlock Holmes will :?   have as a Villian in this movie. :dunno:

If they were to do a Khan based story it would have to be dramatically different. Wrath of Khan is about two old, experienced warriors, lions in winter if you will, and their old wounds and enmities. It's about Kirk really losing, for the first time ever. The new cast is far too young for the plot to make any sense. Losing for Pine's Kirk would be a learning experience, not a massive blow. And Space Seed, the original, is a good television episode but would make a lousy movie.

I think that whatever Abrams makes, however whacky the science is, it will be a good movie, at least until you start thinking about it, so Khan is either out or would be so different that it will be fun.
