I think you're right on that.

So? I don't entirely agree with what he was about anyway. :doubt:

I'm on the fence with this. If it's explained, that'd be interesting. But if it's not, then it's a little too ridiculous for me. Just my opinion, of course.

^ might or might not explain it. I have a backstory for it anyway having to do with his parents that I might use for another fic.

Sat on the idea for a bit and I think you're right, JZK. I'm just going to change it back to "cousin" because the silliness is a little too jarring for this particular scene. And the back story I had in mind would probably just distract me from the real story. Thanks for the input.

Anyhow - I think this thread should be moved to the "other trek" section because even tho the story is Ent. related, it's still not really Ent.... yet.

Cousin would work well. I think it'd keep the main story flowing better.

He'd have to be a pretty close cousin. :upchuck: I actually like the clone idea better, but that's just me. ;)

I kinda like the clone idea better too, but I'm more concerned with the tone of the scene. It's supposed to be very somber (the baby was just Kidnapped!) It would be like a huge WTF? moment for the reader if I went with the clone idea.

AND IT'S ALL WESLEY'S FAULT

(I had to say it.)

If I didn't write in Wesley, I probably would have avoided the issue altogether, but silly me, I'm too lazy to come up with a bran spanking new bridge crew for Riker.

So we're assuming Wesley gave up being a Traveller?

It's canon. He showed up in Lt. pips for Riker's wedding in Nemesis.

I didn't remember it either until I read a review of the movie that mentioned it and snapped a sceencap.

That was from a cut scene IIRC.
