Well, these days human male bonding with offspring is IN, an aceptable activity! 8) So is "girls night out", and why not stretch that into four days at an ST convention? It IS better to leave spouses at home when you plan to salivate over Connor, ya know. Now let me see...how can I convince Jim to stay home...

Thanks for the information about prices and hotels...
I'll definitely have to start saving right now.
So more questions is there a good public transport system and are the cap prices very high? I'm trying to make a very accurate estimate of all the costs for the trip, so I'm considering if I have to rent a car to get around.
Here taking a cap is luxury, because it's so expensive. Here everyone uses the public transport if they don't own a car and many times even if they own a car.

Yes, it's a very good idea to leave hubby home if Connor Trinneer is going to be there . My hubby doesn't always like when I  over someone who has a bit better body than he has. And I don't understad why because I think my hubby is very good looking and he is also athletic. Fortunately most of the time he just thinks I'm very silly to be such a huge fan of Trip and Connor. :D

see now THIS is the type of thing i would actually looove to do at least once in my life. Always wanted to go to Las Vegas, I love the idea of it being in a dessert, can't imagine being in a place more different to england (except for the snowly alps).

not into slot machine but i can imagine the atmosphere on the streets being immense.

I'd prob go for the gold ticket myself if I was gonna do it once. Though quality time and autographs isn't realy what floats my boat although if Jolene, Connor, Spiner and Nemoy where around chatting for 10 mins while i had my dinner I'd be exstatic. prob wouldnt have much to say other than... "yay i like you"! though.

Is there oppertunity to just hang out with random trek nuts, chat trek and get wasted? I can't imagine a more fun outing. Don't get to chat trek round here, my bro's watched the series but they aren't really fans in the sense that i am.

This thing happen every year? (fingers crossed)

ARE YOU KIDDING? Just hanging out with other Trek nuts is the reason to attend. The first convention I attended there were about 20? members of the House of Tucker website. And we all wore "Not Dead" T-shirts (this was organized over the Internet) and we got there and recognized each other instantly and hung out nonstop for the 2 or three days of the conference. The next one we had at least 8? Triaxian Silk members, we traded cell phone numbers and met in one hotel room, and there were additional people I knew from my astronomy club and we all hung out, staying up till one or two every night. I badly want to go to this Las Vegas convention, but I should mention that we are probably all monitoring the economic situation. :? So many people are losing their jobs. All my kids will be in college next year. It may just be a nice daydream for me.

Hotels in Vegas have pretty cheap buffets with decent food. It's underwritten by the gamblers, of course, but it's good for the non-gamblers.

Sadly I've never been to any of the Really Big Cons, just the ones in Detroit. :(

I still have like 10 Triaxian Silk shirts that D made for me that I could lend out if I can get there.

It's pretty much the same caveat as before, hehehe... if I have a job, I'll be able to come :? :)

I wish I had one of those shirts . . . I could advertise the site at astronomy club events. I don't have to worry much longer about maintaining a reptuation as a fine, upstanding, totally normal, member of the community. I'm almost done (but not quite done) being a soccer mom and I'm not running for office in the club for next year.
