If you say so. Snacks don't cut it for me, though. I need real food. 8)

But we could take a note from JT. She bought all kiinds of little snacks that we all survived on for like 3 days - save special dinners together - in Jersey!

I have to give credit to Bob for getting the snacks. And the way I survived was by fasting . . . and one restaurant meal a day. Country Buffet was good and the right price!

I feel I better squelch the rumors: By "special dinners together," he means a bunch of us at Coontry Buffet or something. :?

The Excalibur has a pretty good buffet for fairly cheap.

Ditto. A snack is something to be eaten between breakfast and lunch... or lunch and dinner... or dinner and breakfast

To be honest, the very best meal I had on our trip, was some Louisiana fare inspired by a conversation with Dis about crawfish: I had the "Red-beans & Rice with spicy crawfish" at Gators, a slick little Mexican joint we found in old-town Dallas... SUPERB!

They put crawfish IN the red beans and rice? Now that's just plain weird. :?

Uhhhh I'm not crazy enough to eat in a hotel restaurant. :? Like even if there's nowhere to cook in the hotel

Find supermarket. Buy bread. Buy tuna. Eat for 5 days :D

Cup noodles work too... nasty but works :?

Box-potatoes...

Canned soup (cold obviously cuz there's no microwave in the hotel room)

Yeah I know all of y'all won't think it's all that great... well it's NOT... but it's food. If it's food I'll eat it.

Yes, I remember the hunger quite well. Amazing sometimes what it can do to you. At one point there were two people in an elevator that had plates with food and I just couldn't keep my eyes off of them. Bob did bring healthy snacks and the buffet was good. I think I may have overeaten just a little bit by then...Probably better off not doing the snack and starvation thing, though. There was just so much going on with the convention, there didn't ever seem to be any time to eat.

I hope all of you have a good time with no unexpected problems this time around. :)

Certain foods are such a joy in life, for me, that I just don't find it worth it to save the money by scrapping by on little things that aren't filling or satisfying. The fact is, you pay a price for the multiple levels of a meal, not just for the raw material, but for the service and the satisfaction of eating it. I just factor that into what I'm going to spend anytime, any place. It's just not worth it to me to eat crap that barely keeps me alive. That's what the military intends to do to me if I deploy, why force it on myself now?

More on it than in it: it was pan fried in cajun spices, and REALLY GOOD! ;)

I prefer my red beans and my crawfish served separately, thank you. Andouille sausage goes on red beans. Crawfish belongs in etouffee. Sorry, but I'm a purist. 8)

Idk what any of that crap is . My "love of food" means Missouri (pronounced Missouri, not MISSOURA!) stuff, like... steak... potatoes... ribs... briscuit... variously prepared chicken... and of course mac & chese :D

ooh and hot dogs!
