A writer friend of mine (with a published fantasy novel and connections, no less ) has invited me to DragonCon, a general SF con in Atlanta, over Labor Day weekend. I'm afraid two cons in one month is a bit excessive, even for me. I'll kick myself later for passing up the chance to meet JB, I'm sure... but my friend says she'll introduce me to her literary agent if I go to the con with her.

You should mention Foundations if you do.

While I'd love to go and meet other TriS folks, I'll still be here. But it's about the time I'm looking into going to the Great Barrier Reef, so that's grand for me.

Alas. I can't be in NY visiting my daughter, in KY visiting my wife's family, and in Vegas all within two weeks of each other. My poor overstretched billfold would never take it. *sigh* But once again I beseech anyone who goes for lotsa pictures.

Tut, tut. Don't you know that's what credit cards are for? Why wait when you can have everything you've ever wanted, now? You deserve to have all your dreams come true, TODAY! And all you need to make your dreams come true is a high enough credit limit!!!

That was sarcasm. I couldn't pass up the opportunity for the comment, but in actuality I am against this practice.

LOL, that's a little bit of where I am. I'll find out when I get home and start paying the bill if I can actually afford what I just did

Er... guess what? I checked my schedule, just for kicks. I mean, it's totally ridiculous for a responsible adult to go to THREE SF conventions in three months, right? Ludicrous.

But after Elessar and eK BEGGED on Saturday, I decided to just take a look, right? Doesn't hurt to take a look.

Not only is the week of the Vegas con during semester break when I'd ordinarily work only half time for one week and then be off another week, the convention falls on the week I'm scheduled to be off anyway.

I guess God wants me to go to Vegas.

Now I need to talk my husband into it.
