Collectormania, Milton Keynes UK, 2nd to 5th May

Postby Drogna » Wed Apr 02, 2008 11:15 pm

Is anyone based in the UK thinking about going to this? Connor has recently been added to the guest list. It's not very far from me, so I'm seriously considering it.

Sigh. I'd love to go to the UK. Never been there. It's halfway across the world from where I am, though. Oh well, I'll see him in Dallas in June.

:happyjump: :happyjump: :happyjump:

I've just got back from seeing Connor at Milton Keynes. This was the first time that I've met him and, I have to say, he is just as lovely as everyone says. Unfortunately no snazzy shirt :( , but he was wearing a really nice blue top that sort of brought out his eyes. And I loved the stubbly look.

Mr Drogna was there to take some pictures:

http://www.drogna.org/gallery/connor/100_1036 - "Who is this weird woman?"

http://www.drogna.org/gallery/connor/100_1038 - "She's wearing one of those t-shirts..."

http://www.drogna.org/gallery/connor/100_1039 - yay, he has his arm around me!

He earned extra bonus points for saying that Mini-drogna was "a good looking boy" and pronouncing my name right, and as it was relatively quiet he even personalised my autograph. I was a bit too tongue tied to ask him any meaningful questions, but he did say that he's just been filming in Bulgaria. We also exchanged a few words about Jasper who's apparently 2 and half now and doing well (kind of the obvious topic with mini-drogna looking bored in the pushchair beside me).

I realised after I'd got my precious signed pic that I had no where to put it to keep it safe while we went shopping, so we ended up trekking (!) through the whole shopping centre to find somewhere that sold folders. Mr Drogna puts up with quite a lot sometimes.

It took me hours to come down from the high. Mr Drogna is still amused by the whole experience.

He's so cute. I like "She's wearing one of those t-shirts." :)

Mr. Drogna is clearly a very good man.

FYI, the links you posted all go to the same photo.

Connor looks thinner... and tired. Or maybe it's just the "just got up out of bed" look.

Come to think of it, it's a yummy look on him.

Now you come to mention it, he did look a bit tired. It was quite early in the morning (about 9.30am) and he had a large cup of coffee with him. Plus if he'd only got in from Bulgaria the night before, he was probably tired from all the travelling. Which makes it even more amazing that he looked so good. :D

Drogna! How did I miss this? Wonderful pictures! Thank you for sharing. Yes, I agree with the rest. He looks tired and scruffy. That's my favorite look for him. OOOoooo . . . yes, well . . . *sigh*

Isn't it weird to meet him after you write long heartbreaking stories about Trip? HE LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE TRIP!!! AMAZING That's what was going through my head.

He's one of the few characters in a lot of shows that looks exactly the same in person. No makeup, no costuming really. Chief Tyrol (BSG) is another one. Caught a glimpse of him in Vegas, he was a surprise guest.

For the most part, DK doesn't look much diff. in person either.

Hey, Drogna, I was wondering, when he saw your shirt, did he mention "Holy crap, those are across the world!" ? :D Did he say he'd seen them at Cons in the States??

Actually I find the pancake makeup and pink lipstick they put everyone in on Enterprise fairly annoying. Especially in the 4th season you can just SEE it. I don't have HDTV either. It must really be forcing changes in Hollywood make-up techniques. In the old days you had to add shadows to people's faces because film flattens them out. Do you still have to with video? I don't see much sign of that anymore.

I try not to watch the DVDs on my computer because it's just too clear and I fixate on Phlox's latex face and crap like that.

Yes, T'Pol's varying shades of lipstick were a bit obvious.
