Thank you for letting me actually see it! Is it real or is it Photoshop? It's so Bergmanesque...

I would have guessed that too, but who knows if she'll ever have time to chime in.

For Vulcan Language Institute stuff, Selek sent me some Word files from the site, which I have PMed the Triaxian Silk administrators that I could pass on to them.

And here is some info that got from doing a Google search on the Vulcan Language Institute:

Well, it seems like its been shut down due to budgetary reasons.

http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://.../~vli/vlif.htm

The link above has cached images of the website thru the years and the main theme on the front page is that "funds are low" and "we are shutting down for a while"' It seems that the site gets shutdown every once in a while and he brings it back up when ever he can.

You should be able to use the cashed pages to grab what ever info you needed but don't be surprised if you run into a snag or two. It doesn't cashe for more then 1-2 hops.

Dif-tor heh smusma

Also some useful Vulcan language links I found with a Google search:

Vulcan Language Dictionary http://www.starbase-10.de/vld/
Compiled by Selek from the Vulcan Language Institute, Marketa Z., Star Trek episodes and movies.

Vulcan Academy Linguistices Departmrent http://www.lasatha.org/vald/
Documents and links pertaining to vulcan-linguistics.

Vulcan UTA http://members.aol.com/JPKlingon/uta/utavjv.html
Look up a Vulcan word. Translate phrase to Vulcan. Part of UTA project for Klingon, Romulan and Vulcan.

Then there is an ad by Mark Gardner who ran the Vulcan Language Institute:

Description:
The Vulcans. A logical and peaceful people, a race of vegetarian philosophers.

Centuries ago, in order to ensure they would not destroy themselves from barbarism, they cast out their emotions and embraced the philosophical teachings of Surak.

"Logic is the cement of our civilization with which we ascend from chaos, using reason as our guide."

This book contains a complete introduction to Vulcan culture, language, ritual and tradition. Also included are a Vulcan dictionary and series of language lessons that will teach you this ancient and time honored tongue of wisdom.

Content originally presented at vulcanlanguage.com, where it is available for free. Any and all profit from the sale of this book will be donated to the Vulcan Language Institute via Paypal.
Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.

Thanks for all the help here. I have needed to find more Vulcan info and it takes time to do web searches. My avatar was on one of the linked sites posted at Trip/T'Polers. Don't remember which one. It' s the best pic of them together I've seen.

^ I love that avatar! It almost looks like an ad out of Vogue or something.

Off-topic--I'm so envious that you live in Traverse City! My great aunt and uncle have a place in Northport, and it's just so beautiful up there! :D

Has anyone read anything about the seasons of Vulcan's year?

Mh... no, I think.
But my memory is not too good, of late. "SIGH"
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

Hey, any chance we can sticky this topic, for those of us who are all down and jiggy with the research thing?

Thanks.

Okay, I went to the Vulcan Language Dictionary, and I noticed a lack of words for "I," "me," etc. So how would you say, for example, "Help me" in Vulcan? Do you simply modify the verb as you would in Spanish or French to indicate "I help," "you help," "we help," etc? Or is there another language resource that can help with this?

The VLI had lessons in grammar. I have yet to find this component anywhere else.

Wish I could download this. It seems like a bargain:
