Once again you have proven your rare talent of writing heartwrenching, stronghearted (in my own language "robuust") prosa in a wonderful poetic way. (tries to remove lomb from throat).

I'm having to read Jane Eyere right now for my lit class and I go back and forth between being so bored I want to burn something, and so upset over the abuse/neglect of the children. :(

LOL. We'll have to see what you make of Mr. Rochester.

I'm with EK. I'll take Jane Eyre over Wuthering Heights any day.

Yeah. Book Heathcliff is a little hard core for me. And the whole incest thing is way creepy. I much prefer young Cathy to Cathy prime anyway.

So, I'm voting for the much tamer but still dark and twisted Jane Eyre.

"Sacrifices" by Ginamr
I want to write here what I wrote as a comment of this story, because I think it deserves it.

This story is what I'm searching for. It narrates of great epics intertwined with personal issues, of how people must deal with tragedy and of the soft feelings which are the life's thread and support.
And Trip and T'Pol are a part of all this, and their love enlightens everything.
Really beautiful.
Really well done.
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

Jane Eyre is just overrated in book form. LOVE THE MOVIES but the book. Jane is a ninny goody-too-shoes, and Rochester is just a weak willed pity party. UG I hate that book. Rochester does all these immoral things but he's deemed innocent and Jane is saintly perfection.

Yeah Wurthering Hieghts is dark twisted and hard core. BUT You don't need to pity the characters, and they aren't tragic angels. They're real people. Flawed messed up and heroic. . Heathcliff and Cathy, are not innocent. They aren't meant to be. But they do have good qualities mixed with the bad. And their children find the redemption they don't.

Besides marrying cousins isn't weird why should it be? It still happens. Anyway Boss PLEASE READ THE BOOK!

PS Elizabeth Barrett Browning HATED Jane Eyre. Just a piece of trivia, and she was Poet Lauriate of England. She loved Emily Bronte.

Hey, different strokes for different folks. Wuthering Heights will appeal more to those who love the operatic, the wildly romantic, the lush, and the histrionic. Jane Eyre will appeal more to those who like the satirical, the analytical, and the repressed.

I do also predict, though, that Elessar would prefer WH to JE.

I asked my "Writing About Lit" to name their favorite and least favorite piece of high school literature. It was funny to see how To Kill a Mockingbird, Catcher in the Rye and Shakespeare showed up frequently -- on BOTH sides.

Although Elizabeth Barrett Browning was as good a poet as many of her male counterparts I'm afraid she never held the official post of Poet Laureate of Great Britain. We have had to wait until the 21st century for a woman to hold this post. Carol Ann Duffy, a Scottish poet. :D
